Worth visiting

The food is okay, reasonably priced, and the restaurant has beautiful views of the Ottawa River, Nepean Point, and the galleries inner gardens.

My fiancé and I love to explore the art world when we travel. This gallery is worth the 12$. It featured Picasso's Vollard Collection. Of prints and sketches when we visited but the permanent collection is also great. There is also a kids area (see my pics) where children can create their own artwork. Very cool! Also an Inuit and... The restaurant facility on the second floor decided to change its menu. It is a disaster. Bring your lunch or get out to the Byward market across the street. It supposed to be Korean flavour but the menu list hot-dogs and hamburgers (all from the freezer on the left. The salad bar was pitiful and the soup was an pale... More

We could have spent more time here and done the audio tour but given our limited time (just over an hour) we saw the highlights and thought it was time and money well spent

Canadian should be proud of our collection and I urge you all to visit our Canadian artists!! We have so much amazing talent. Sadly culture is not free for Canadian. Other country gives free access to their museum for citizens perhaps in my lifetime this will change.

The National Gallery of Canada has an amazing collection of Inuit art and sculpture, with excellent explanatory notes. Some items included QR Codes with links to video content. We also visited the Special Exhibit of Picasso's Vollard Collection - Man and Beast. A must see. Very well presented/displayed. Our only regret was not catering enough time!!

The Canadian collection is my favourite spot to take offshore guests, who find it quite impressive. The architecture always impresses too. It will be even better when the renovations are complete.
