Great walking - biking trails.

This is a hidden gem along the north shore of Lake Ontario! Grassy walking trails and lots of interesting vistas.

I am a big fan of the McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve and thankful to all the volunteers who made it a reality. I thoroughly enjoyed my last vist - except for the mosquitoes. I was saddened to see the poor state of the boardwalk. Part of it was cordoned off but there are a lot of boards that need to... More

It's a lovely marsh trail...however, there were no garbage cans or recycling bins available where the path entrance is located. As well, there are no dogs allowed....If you have your dog on a leash, why can't we walk our dogs here? They claim is scares some of the wildlife...well, that's nature...why try to control a natural environment where the hierarchy... More

It's a great place to just go wonder around and have a look at nature at its best! All kinds of birds and smaller wild life, insects and creatures. Very peaceful and seems that people are respecting the reserve and not doing anything to upset the echo balance!

My wife and I went for a walk to the lake on Sunday. The quiet was soothing to the soul. We hike here often as I like to take pictures and she looks for little pieces of driftwood. It is possible to complete a long hike by going from the entrance to the conservation area to Darlington Provincial Park. We... More

Our family use this reserve for canoeing and just simply to enjoy the outdoors. When our children were younger it was great for nature walks.

This is a lovely area to walk and wander. Pretty quiet peaceful. Cold in the winter. Can be mucky but great in the summer.

Spring or summer is a great time to put in your kayak or canoe for a leisurely paddle around the marsh. Always plenty of wildlife to see, including ducks, geese, heron, beaver, snapping turtles, and a plethora of marsh birds. As it's sheltered from the wind and lake, the waves are usually minimal, making it great to take young children... More

this sanctuary bounded by east oshawa and darlington provincial park is an awesome visit to untrampled marshland. there are so many divergent pathways here. depending on the time of day it can be very uninhabited. this is a wonderful escape spot for nature lovers. so many varied species of birds, and animals call this reserve home. it is near spotless,... A group of photographers found our way through the reserve to Lake Ontario before sunrise and were treated to a spectacular setting. On our return we stopped at one of the marshes which, under better conditions--less wind--would have had many more birds. This is known as a birder's paradise but 35 knot winds kept all but the smallest avians away.
