I haven’t been in Coronation Park in at least 25 years. Just as I remembered. Beautiful as it’s right on Lake Ontario. It’s still a busy spot as the park was packed. The park is very well maintained...

Coronation Park is a great park located on Lake Ontario in Oakville. It is quite large, with plenty of space for playing and picnics. There is a fair amount of parking (but sometimes not enough on a busy holiday weekend) and a great playground for the kids.

We’ve just moved to Oakville from the U.K. and are slowly working our way through the many parks in the city. This is my favourite so far. There is good parking (we went on a weekday so it wasn’t too busy) and there are two big play parks (one for toddlers) and a small cafe selling drinks and ice creams. There is an excellent splash pad (which the website had said was closed but was definitely open!) surrounded by grassy areas to sit and watch/picnic. And it’s right on the lake so you can also have a paddle in the water.

The park is still blocked off. The splash pad area is closed. Half of the park is still fenced off, no access. Very disappointing as it was a great place to go for family picnics.

Nice park with some upgrades happening when we visited. Great view of downtown Toronto. Lots of shade and play ground equipment for the little kids.

Coronation Park is located between Third and Fourth Line on Lakeshore Road. It offers plenty of pic is areas including barbecues in spots. Lots of parking (free) but it tends to get really busy in summer especially on a warm sunny day! There are swings etc for children as well as water park with sprinklers etc. There is also food and drink available on premises. Lots of room to play outdoor games as well! Good for walking, jogging etc. Beach area is clean with lots of pebbles. Not recommended for swimming.

We live close by and love every inch of this park. A great place all year round be it for walking the dog, casual cycling along the lake, volkeyball or football (soccer) or picnics for families or large groups. In the spring, summer and autumn there are lots of events and activities in the park to satisfy everyone. Do get out and enjoy this wonderful public facility.

A safe and clean park. Love it! Be it summer, fall, summer or spring - it's my favourite spot for not only a walk but where kids could have fun too.

Coronation Park is a beautiful park for everyone to enjoy . Families with children will love the playground and splashpad , there are plenty of tables with covered picnic area's, a volleyball sand court., excellent washroom facilities and ample parking. The waterfront is spectacular and the rugged coastline and path great for walking and exploring.
There are memorial benches all along the path with tree's planted in memory of loved one's that grace the path. There is parking on the east and west entrances of the park just off Lakeshore Road. Truly one of many Oakville's hidden gems.!
The park is to be enjoyed in every season. A great place to visit and worth the drive. One of Oakville's most beautiful parks!

A great park for all the family to visit and picnic with a chance to enjoy the view of the lake.
On the downside not too many places to play games and also beware it can get very very busy on the weekends when the good weather arrives

Regret very late reply, but have been extensively traveling during the last months.
The park is open every day of the year, unless for safely reasons authorities will close the park during/after a strong storm, combined with high water levels of Lake Ontario, when heavy shore erosion may occur.
Written 8 July 2019
Actually the park has been closed to the public for a month now.
Due to heavy rain and flooding.
The city will be reassessing the damage that was done to the park and then will advise later hopefully this month as to when it will re open.

what point defines the east and west beach at coronation park as far as safe swimming is concerned
Written 3 September 2016
That's a good question. I've often wondered the same myself. As another has stated, no signage posted re swimming.

I believe you need to bring your own BBQ.
Written 12 August 2016
Hi,
(1) Is there free parking available at the park?
(2) Are dogs on leash allowed at the park?
(3) Are public washrooms available?
(4) Can we carry our portable charcoal bbq to use for the day?
Written 25 July 2016
Yes the parking is free and dogs are allowed on leash. There are some barbecues available in the picnic area.
Written 26 July 2016
Can the picnic areas only be used when one has a permit?
Written 24 April 2016
I believe that you can use the picnic areas providing they are not reserved.
