unfortunate that the park is not labelled on this side of the bridge. The parking lot is under construction and its very busy. but the park itself is huge and it spans all along Sixteen Mile creek. Tons of long trails for hiking, jogging and cycling. There are multiple playgrounds and covered areas for picnics. Even if the parking lot is packed, a short walk will get you away from the crowd. Some also fish in the creek from the bridge or down by the water. Last time I saw a family on a tube floating down the creek. very nice area full of nature... minutes away from a busy town.. but might as well be miles away.

We visit Lion's Valley quite frequently. There are many trails, challenging hills, washrooms, kids play structures, sixteen mile creek and picnic facilities. It is free to the public, many trailheads to jump into the trail system.

great trail, provides a loop of about 6 km starting out from the Dundas street entrance, has a couple of "hills" if doing hill repeats is your thing and even a stair climb ( 75 steps up from the bottom of the valley to the top), deer can be seen often especially early in the morning Can be accessed year round on foot, though the main parking from Dundas that comes winding down steeply into the valley is closed off in winter.

Amazing place to go with young children to play or to go for a bike ride or a running. Good parking lot close to the children's playground. Use this address for the parking lot: 1227 Lions Valley Rd

Super nice park to sit and work or relax. Beautiful with lots of shaded picnic tables spread out with plenty of privacy.

This park is amazing, there is so much to do, there are so many amazing trails to walk through, the park is very clean and that’s great because garbage is bad for the environment!! If your an advanced hiker or a person who wants a walk through nature there will be a trail for you! I go there all the time and I love it every time I go!

The Lions Valley Park is a vast open space and the Sixteen Mile Creek flows through it. It is located in Oakville on either side of Dundas Street under the bridge just west of Neyagawa Boulevard. It offers plenty of nature trails for hiking walking etc and places for picnic if one so desires. Not well equipped with amenities but it is all nature! Sixteen Mile Creek flows gently through the park. Children should be kept under close watch as the creek does move fast if there is a large snow melt or heavy rains. Parking is centrally located and no vehicles are allowed in the park.

It's not too far from us. We love hiking there. It's free and it's beautiful. Especially in the fall when the leaves are so colourful. It's a great experience and it's free.

Nice way to see all animal in very close distance. Specially Lion loitering near to your car as if you are playing with them.

Do i need a permit for a picnic. Seemes everywhere in oakville needs a permit now which i think is bs. I just want to sit on the grass, on my own chairs and have a picnic with my family, do i need a permit to do that?
Written 15 May 2017
You only need a permit if you want to use/separate the shelter for a picnic (There are two). You can use the rest of the area freely.

Hi,
Is there an entrance fee to the park?
Is the parking free?
Written 23 June 2016
No entrance fee and free parking :-)

Yes, but the adjacent parking lots are closed. It is possible to park on the street. Last Sunday, the trails were very muddy and icy in places . There were fewer people , but still it was not deserted. A group of Bruce-trail members all wore icers on their boots.

There are multiple by foot entry points, the main being from Dundas west of Neyagawa ( opp the Lawn cemetery), the road from Dundas winds down into the parking, be careful as you wind down into a right turning blind corner in your vehicle, there could be runners, cyclists or other vehicles coming up the incline. Enjoy
