My family recently rented out one of the yurts at Bronte Creek. I was shocked that these are even rentable in the spring and summer because when the temperature was 25 outside, the inside of the yurt was showing at an unbearable 38 degrees. I was told by staff later that the thermostat in the yurt maxes out at 38 degrees so it could have even been hotter than that. The next day was even hotter so it was even more disgusting to be in. When we arrived, the windows were all closed and fans were turned off. It would have been nice for staff to prepare for arrival and make the inside slightly cooler by having these things done especially since they were in there cleaning that morning anyways. We were unable to spend any time in the yurt during the day and only became manageable around 10pm when it cooled off for the evening but we still had to sleep with the fans on. I feel the yurts should come with a warning and should not even be rented out in hotter weather as it becomes a safety concern.

Day area is an embarrassment. Overgrown in the day area near the store. Pool closed with vegetation growing in the pool. Labour day Saturday it was empty. Not surprised, need some serious maintenance, unbelievable that an affluent city like Oakville can organize a Friends of Brontë Creek park , like others. The main store in the day area looks like an abandoned city you would see on tv. Campsites are average , but also need serious upgrades. Only silver lining is the staff is 10 out of 10.

Bronte Creek is one of the Provincial Parks in Ontario, which is between Toronto and Niagara Falls. It has all the wilderness, trails, and nature desired, but it is also very close to the urban settings. You can hike or just walk, camp, or attend some educational sessions run by The Friends of Bronte Creek Park . Visit Victorian Museum, or get to know how to tap the maple syrup from maple trees in March.

We camped here the week of July 19/21.
The sites here are a mixture of semiprivate and public spots.
The site we had was large enough to handle both our RV and dinning tent.
The washrooms and showers are neat, clean and updated.
There are plenty of trails for hiking and biking.
Our granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the children’s play area.
The dump station at checkout was not very clean with lots of water and
mud, the flush hose had the connection cutoff making it inoperable.
It’s very close to any type of shopping you may need to do.
It’s an ok park but nothing outstanding

My family stopped by on the way to Toronto from the US. We enjoy hiking and wanted to take a break from tourist attractions. We parked in the day use area near the "Baseball" pavilions and walked to the Lookout Ravine Trail. This trail was very pretty and very wide. We enjoyed it, but were disappointed by the name of the tail as the lookout was just a few trees. We were expecting a view of a ravine and creek, but we still enjoyed out time walking this trail. The Nature Centre wasn't open, but seems like a nice place to enjoy. We like that there was a dogs off leash area for dogs to play.

Site was nice and fairly vacant during mid week, site was secluded and large. Couldn't find the dog park though, apparently there is one there but all I could find was a trail and there was no sign of a dark park after walking down it 3-4 km. All sites have power, saw water taps, washrooms were clean. A good option if you live close by and don't want to drive 2-4 hours away just to camp for a couple nights.

I had a day use reservation for Bronte Creek provincial park, picnic shelter PS-8 Grey for August 25, 2024. The site was not cleaned when provided to us and the same was notified to the park officials who clicked photographs of the place. There was food waste, particles and feces that was left uncleaned at the shelter and we were told that they could send a cleaning person, however no one showed up.
The electric plug were not working as per our agreement and an electrcian who appeared onsite confirmed the same. We were denied escort at the end and was told to walk carrying stuff back to the parking while the escort trucks were travelling empty.
We are now being told that our deposit is forfeited as we didnt leave the place clean enough.

Visited this park on Saturday July 25, 2020. The park is big and unfortunately maps and signage are poor. We met quite a few people lost on the trails. No surprise, as there is no trail marking, no directions, distances etc. Not much of a river either to cool off and the outdoor pool was closed. The map which they give you at the entrance is very poor. We are experienced hikers and had a lot of difficulty to get ourselves oriented on the trails and on the internal roads. Few rare signs point to places not shown on the map. GPS was a great help.

Very good park for walks and spending time with family. Closed for picnics due to Covid but open for walks. Creek walk is interesting and fishing can be done here. Well maintained by park authorities

We will be camping at the park this coming summer. Do campers also have to pay the $18 per car fee for the day use area or will it be free for us?

HI!
When you say playgrounds, do you mean there are swings for the kids? I am asking this because i didn't see any pics with swings. I want the play area with swings so that the kids stay busy.
thanks
Written 14 May 2019
I didn't see anything like that but we didn't go too far because we were using a stroller with small wheels and the paths are coarse gravel.
Written 14 May 2019
Thank you for your question. Some of our Trails and Paths are bike friendly - please obey the signs at the trailheads.
Respect other park visitors who may be enjoying a quieter, slower pace adventure.
Thanks!

Is there fishing allowed at the campground? Also are washroom facilities close by?
Written 15 June 2017
Fishing is permitted in the park, with proper Ontario fishing licences etc. The creek is best accessed via the day-use side off Burloak Drive. Washrooms... you will pass them on the way to the creek. It is at least a 1km walk from the parking lot to the creek.
Written 21 June 2017
Just wanted to let you know that the pass you have is only for NATIONAL PARKS in Canada, not PROVINCIAL PARKS...a lot of people are making this same mistake. Don't want you to be disappointed showing up and still having to pay to get in. Hope you enjoy the parks anyway.
Written 26 March 2017
Thank you! Yes, someone explained at the park gate and now I've found the map that came with the pass to start planning!

Hi, we have group site C and D rented for a family get together. Are these sites walking distance/very close to each other? are either of them near water?
Written 17 March 2017
Groups camp sites are all within walking distance of each other. As for close to water? water tap for drinking and cooking - yes. Water for swimming - No. campers are required to drive to the day-use area off Burloak Drive to access the 1.8 outdoor swimming pool. Your valid camping permit allows you access to the day use area however there is an additional fee per day to use the pool. Ask at the campground office when you register.
Written 20 March 2017
It is a campground, not a traditional park. There are places to park and sit on the non-campground side though, including a pool open in the summer. You will have to pay to get in the park.
