Lakeside Park Pier

This is a great local park where you can spend a few hours enjoying the lake. People watching is great here as well as a little fishing. I like to come here during the sunrise. Gorgeous scenery, lots of sail boats anchor here and the paddle boarders love to go up and down the channel where the boats anchor.

Lakeside Park, Oakville.

This well laid out park, is delightful, and a marine haven. On a really clear day, it is possible to see as far as New York, which is certainly impressive!

Beautiful

This little gem of a park is located in Oakville and is off of Lake Ontario. It is a gorgeous place and so peaceful out here.

Pretty Little Park by the Lake

Nice little park to have a stroll around in when in Old Oakville. You'll enjoy water views of Lake Ontario, and on clear days, you can see the distant skyline of downtown Toronto. Be warned, though, that the nearby stretch if Lakeshore Road is currently under excavation and closed to vehicular traffic. Shops and cafes continue to operate, though.

Stunning waterfront view

We were in Downtown Oakville Sat morning (Sep 29) for Doors Open Halton Region and were about to head over to either Merrick Thomas House or Oakville’s Old Post Office when my family caught sight of the lake, pier and light tower and decided to do some outdoor sightseeing first. We have been to quite a few waterfront parks and the view of the calm waters of Lake Ontario while standing on the middle pathway here at Lakeside Park is one of the best, if not the best, I have ever seen. It is just plain stunning. We walked to the end of the path, stopped to take scenic pics at the bench next to the TOWARF marine rescue headquarters and strolled along the pier until we reached the red and white light tower. We recognized Toronto’s skyline to the east and could also sight land further south as we stared out at the lake. Aside from being current home to Merrick Thomas House and Oakville’s Old Post Office, Lakeside Park also has a children’s playground, a bandstand and several picnic tables and park benches. A must-visit if you find yourself in Downtown Oakville.

Beautiful park

Great place to relax on a weekend morning! This place is tucked into a nice quiet neighbourhood and there is a nearby museum. Watch out for the seagulls!

Great place for a stroll

This park is right on the water and has a great shaded park for children. Plus it has a great path for walking and a path that takes you along the water and right to the lighthouse.

Hidden Gem

Stumbled upon this park and historic area quite by accident. We went in the evening and we will definitely come back during the day pack a lunch and spend the day here. Beautiful views, beautiful historic homes and just a fantastic feeling in the neighborhood. Had lots of fun roaming the streets and finding all the different occupations of the original homeowners. Quite a learning experience for the kids.
