I went on a Niagara Falls bus tour and didn’t know about the Whirlpool until we stopped there. Beautiful site to see, worth the stop.

For us, the whirlpool is the conclusion of the "whole falls experience." You can start at Horseshoe/American/Bridal Veil Falls on the Canadian side, and easily take the free WEGO bus from there to the White Water Walk and then to the Whirlpool. You can do the cable car across the river, but seeing the whirlpool from the observation deck was free and good enough for us. The whirlpool forms, dissipates and re-forms over and over again. Amazing turbulence.

The whirlpool is a few miles down stream from the falls. It is where the river circulates around a bend causing a whirlpool. You can ride a cable car across the river and pre-covid times you could walk along the banks. Not a patch on the falls but if in the area worth visiting to watch the power of the river.

Although we travelled here off season/Covid, the attraction was closed however you could go on the platform to check out the view of the whirlpool area. It was beautiful especially with the fall colours. In my previous trips to the Niagara area, I never saw this before- worth the stop!

The scenery is beautiful, but that’s about it. There are no signs or educational displays that I saw. Worth a stop for a photo on your way to somewhere else.

I was here before and the whirlpool was very evident and concerning when going over it . This time there were rapids, but no whirlpool was visible. The rapids were very impressive especially when the jet boat tours came up the river. The whole area is an awesome sight!!! Check this place out for sure. Great observation sight behind the gift shop.

This is a beautiful place but not much around it. It more like an overlook with a tram you can take across. There is also a small gift shop. It is worth the stop if you are going that direction, not sure I would go out of my way for it however.

While visiting some Canadian friends with some of my friends from home in the Niagara Falls area, our hosts looked into getting a ride on the Whirlpool Aero Car that goes over the Niagara Whirlpool.

Meanwhile, we went to the overlook to see the Whirlpool Aero Car in motion as it crossed the Niagara River above the Niagara Whirlpool. One can a really good view of the whirlpool there.

The Niagara Whirlpool was formed naturally. It is 125 feet deep. The water there is very turbulent. The power of the Niagara River is very evident there.

The whirlpool can also be seen from the New York side on the river at Whirlpool State Park and from the nearby Niagara Glen Nature Reserve in Ontario. There is also a powerboat tour that goes near it.

Seeing the Niagara Whirlpool from the overlook at the Whirlpool Aero Car's parking lot is free,

We rate the Niagara Whirlpool at 4.50.
