Due to complete stupidity (in my opinion) on the part of the City of Kingston the museum property was sold to a developer and the museum is no longer. The Alexander Henry is gone and all the artifacts are in storage at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour. With luck it will re-open somewhere, but for now, there is no museum.

Soon this museum will be gone forever as the owner has not renewed the Museum lease siting loss of income. Only good news is the local SCUBA community is trying to get the boat sunk out front of Kingston in Lake Ontario for an attraction of a different kind.

I rated this as very good based on a past visit to the Museum. Back in the day there was a land based museum that was very informative, and the ice breaker ship was actually used as a B & B affiliated with the museum We stayed the night on the ship with two other couples we had travelled to... Despite all of the advertisements for it, unfortunately the museum has had to close down due to the owner of the mooring charging more than they can afford. Apparently the museum is trying to find alternative ways to re-open, but not in the near-future. I've reported it as closed, but in the meantime just move along.

This floating museum in Kingston is just okay. It was very hot inside and could of opened some windows or have fans. It would also be good if there was a makeover inside, just to freshen it up.

Enjoyed the museum and historical information about the dry dock. The most memorable part is touring the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Alexander Henry. You are able to walk and climb all through the ship. Be careful if you bring children there are a lot of places for them to fall hurt themselves. Staff is rude, ignore them and enjoy the... More

They continue to advertise around Kingston, urging visitors to come visit. Yet when we arrived we found it was closed. Would have been nice to let hotels know so the posters would be taken down

A great piece of history, including the Coast Guard ship Alexander Henry. Ship was towed away this week and museum will be shut down next month. Really sad, City of Kingston leadership botched this one.

A self guided tour with some really neat information, although touring the Alexander Henry was definitely the highlight. Being able to freely explore the boat and go to all the different levels was fun. It would have been nice to have someone to talk to about the different features of the boat or uses or even a recorded tour to... More

We visited July 7 and were told we were among the last tourists on the Alexander Henry. The ship is being closed and moved. The volunteers were dismantling the ship. We had a great tour, but so sad that another piece of history is lost to progress.
