What a trip. This lovely and interesting old shop has been here an age. I recall coming here first when I was very young (likely about 50 years ago!). I bought chocolate covered ants, partly because it was exotic and I'd never tried them, but also because I was certain it would flip my mother and sisters out - which it did ; ) So, that was then, and this is now. The shop looks much like it did back then, and very likely like it would have when opened in the mid 1800's. The merch is probably quite different however. Today, you can find a huge variety of coffees and teas, lots of candies and treats that are mostly local, and British, as well as a good number of gift baskets and cheeses...it's worth a look. Great spot. Unique and interesting.

Absolutely loved this store! The variety of edibles is amazing; I'm already planning on using a bigger suitcase next time so I can pack more stuff to bring home. I don't usually like cheddar cheese, the I loved theirs! The mustards and oils and condiments - oh my! Sweets of every variety. Even coffee!

Lovely old fashioned lay out to the shop, it was like walking back in time, it was lovely. I was just amazed at how much of the products were British! It’s nice to see we are exporting such a lot. Keep it up.

While in kington we stopped at Cooke's Fine Foods which is an unique fine food store with authentic Victorian decor. The store itself with its character is worth the visit. Cooke s sells coffee, teas, cheese, gourmet chocolates and lots more fine foods. Well worth the quick stop and wander thru and check it out.

Amazing place with lots of world wide food. Amazing how walking though this store brought back memories of travels to Holland, England, New Zealand and so on.

Also a great stop to pick up CANADIAN products!!

Worth the stop and Will be back.

I can't find the Princess Street location on here, so I want to write my review for them under this location.

The service was exceptional, and the coffee was delicious. I was enticed from the outside by the smell of the coffee and went inside to find a delightful shop with fine foods.

If you want to experience what it was like to go grocery shopping 100 years ago visit this store. It is over 130 years old and it is all original including the floors, ceilings shelves as well as cash registers. The smell of coffee is enticing. They stock goods from all over the world. Lots of stuff from Europe. Make sure you ask staff about the history of the store. They are happy to share. A must visit when in Kingston. Do not pass this place by as it looks simple on the outside but is amazing inside.

I'm a coffee lover with many years of home roasting and tasting experience. Cooke's have discovered a sweet spot in the art and science of coffee blending and roasting. They have a wide selection of fantastic coffee blends to choose from. My favorite is called "Kingston's Favorite, which is a medium roast blend of Ethiopian, Kenyan and Colombian Arabica beans. The Anniversary blend is also one that I like. If you like darker roasts there are other selections, so feel free to smell the beans and choose the one that you like. You can buy the roasted beans whole or ask Cooke's to grind them for you to the fineness that you like. Enjoy!

I have been going to Cooke's since I was a child in the 60's. My mother used to bring me to this family owned gourmet grocery store that has been serving the Kingston community since 1865. You walk through the door and are transported back in time as the interior is pretty much the way it was back 100 years ago. It even smells wonderful! They have exceptional coffee, beautiful gift baskets, world famous cheeses and teas, and all sorts of lovely items you won't find anywhere else. If you're in Kingston you must drop by!
