Our group had people from 8 years old to 83 years old and everyone enjoyed the visit immensely. Excellent tour guide, gorgeous house. My son loved visiting the cook in the kitchen who gave us warm shortbread, and let him pump the water pump. Our tour also included free tickets to the military museum that is very interesting & had... More

Dundurn castle isn't exactly a castle but it's still a lot of fun. The 45 minute guided tours take you through the historic home of Sir Allan McNab and you get to learn about what life was like at the turn of the century. The home is unique in the fact that a lot of the original features of the... More

Step inside and go back in time to the days of Sir John A MacDonald. Lovingly restored and decorated in the days of the 1800's the Dundurn estate is a popular tourist destination

Thank you for your review. Dundurn Castle tells the history of Sir Allan MacNab and his family when they lived at Dundurn from 1830s to 1860s. Costumed interpreters take you on a guided tour of the home which is open year round. More

Striking mid 1800s mansion with a small museum highlighting the history of the area, and of the property. The grounds even in wintertime are lovely and afford a great view down over the Escarpment to the city and LakeOntario beyond. you can almost imagine what this place was like nearly 200 years ago as you squint through the stately trees... My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour of this beautifully restored period home. The guild, dressed in period costume, was informative, cheerful and enthusiastic. She had a good knowledge of both the homes history and of the authentic furnishings. The tours run every 20 minutes starting at the gift shop and if you buy your tickets online prior... More

Dundurn Castle is a fantastic place to tour. If you are from out of town, or have lived here forever and have never been to Dundurn, make sure to put it on your list! A gorgeous home to visit, with excellent, informative tour guides taking you through the past when the home was inhabited. You can almost hear the family... More

I drive by it every so often, and have done so for years, but never really knew what it was. We finally decided to give it a visit this weekend, and were glad we did. The tour lasts about 45 minutes where they take you through the house, and they explain the history of it, and the people that lived... More

An excellent tour. Our tour guide Adam was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and entertaining. He engaged very well with our children, and helped to make it an excellent and enjoyable tour for them. The castle was beautifully decorated for the holidays.

We take the kids every year at Christmas...great experience which helps them 'unplug' and realize life as it was before 'instant' everything! This year my 6yr old dtr took a keen interest in the art and, to everyone's amusement on the tour, would politely announce when she felt the art was 'inappropriate' (any nudity). LOL. Favourite part for me is... More
