We stopped in Pictou on a return trip to the East coast and were impressed with the Hector Heritage Quay. The replica ship is well worth visiting and the history of early settlers is very informative and impressive. The quay has very clean public washrooms...More

Really interesting and informative. Well laid out. Volunteers were all knowledgeable. The walking tour was great around the building but stepping onto the boat changed the whole perspective of the enormity. I was choked. It was superb. Thank you

We wanted to visit this attraction to get a better idea of the Scottish immigration to Nova Scotia. It's a relatively new museum and reproduction ship, so I was surprised to see how little interactivity there was. The exhibits are nice but basically just have...More

This museum tells the story of people from Scotland who emigrated to Nova Scotia. Excellent museum, heritage buildings and a recreated ship that you can go on. Well worth taking the time to visit.

Incredibly well-done experience. The museum commentary not only talks about the replica ship but also the historical context that brought the Highlanders to Nova Scotia.

We visited the Hector Heritage Quay Aug 1, 2017. We really weren't expecting more than seeing the ship and maybe an information centre, boy were we wrong. The building itself is amazing. The story told through the pictures and exhibits is really really well done....More

We arrived on a very rainy day but the staff made it interesting and worth visiting. Exploring the ship and hearing the stores was great. Going below and seeing the sleeping quarters was scary.

We enjoyed our walk on the dock and taking in the sights. The Hector is quite impressive. We took a plane ride with a friend and saw it from the air!

I found the replica of the Hector, the ship on which 33 families and 25 single men traveled from Scotland to Nova Scotia in 1773, more interesting than the museum itself.
