For just a few dollars (and keep the transfer they give you, for the return trip), you get a good view of downtown Halifax. Not much in Dartmouth, the destination, but there is a great restaurant there, The Canteen on Portland Street.

Took a trip over to Dartmouth and walked along to woodside to get ferry back. Not the most scenic of walks but the ferry trips were nice

Ferry between Halifax and Dartmouth, very convenient. 5 dollar fare, is return, but you need to use it two hours after your first trip. It takes about 10 minutes. Quite scenic. Landing also handy, right in the middle of the waterfront walk
