Long Lake Provincial Park offers a variety of outdoor activities to be explored. Hiking trails is the best. The views of the lake are great. A gem so close to the city. It is only a short drive from the busy Halifax center of town.

This is a great place for a peaceful walk in Halifax. Dog friendly trail (please pick up after your dog!!!!) As a former dog owner this is my pet peeve. The walking route is about 5 km in length. Lots of park benches if you...More

What gives you the right to walk your dog's ANYWHERE without picking up after them. You turn every trail you walk.into a sewer system making it unbearable for families and responsible dog walkers alike! Have some respect and pick-up after your dog's or stay at...More

This is our favorite place to take our dog, mostly because it is so close to the city (less than 10 mins from downtown core), but also because the lake is beautiful. In the summer we swim in it, and in the winter we walk...More

The Park features access to two large lakes, with broad gravelled roads for trails, probably better for mountain-biking than strolling. Still, it's a wonderful addition to Mainland South, enabling residents and visitors to explore this huge forested area that was previously accessible only by small,...More

The terrain here can be easy to moderate depending on your entrance. When inside the various trails lead you to amazing views of the lake. Also lead you to sandy or rocky shores. The tree roots and granite rock make natural pathways. A true gem....More

Easy access. Had no success fishing there last year but the dog enjoyed the water. Shocking that illegal clear cutting has taken place in the park.
