We passed Province House on the way to breakfast at the Bluenose. We were impressed with the building and flanking statues, and inquired about it with the outside security guards. The friendly guards suggested we take a tour inside; we were so glad that we did. Lots of history here. You go through the obligatory security checks before being greeted... More

Like many other reviewers, we stumbled onto this tour. We went by Province House intending only to view the outside, not realizing there was a free tour of the inside. But as we were viewing the exterior, taking photographs, a friendly guard told us that if we went inside we could tour it. We did so, and after a security... More

Very classy place - just wander in and be prepared to surrender all your worldly possessions to security to get them back again. Tight security, but extremely friendly and helpful, and the guide obviously loves politics and is extremely knowledgeable. Everyone who works there appears to also be quite classy. It was a lovely tour. It only takes about 20... More

Were pleasantly surprised to find building open on weekend, and were treated to a fine tour by a student from Edmonton. A quaint parliament building housing the province's government with its 52 MPs.

Popped into Province House to look around. The security guards gave us a very warm welcome & then guide arrived to show us public rooms. It is very interesting , free & very well worth the time. They even gave us free postcards.

We had a well done guided tour, by a friendly, knowledgable young lady. She was very easy to understand, and was able to explain political facts in a manner that makes it easy to understand for those not so politically minded. Province house is extremely interesting as a political historic place, being the oldest legislative building in Canada. Staff were... More

We stumbled by chance on a sign on the sidewalk offering free tours. We were delighted by this free tour. We were the only visitors and our guide Luke was passionate about the events which took place in this building and its furniture. He answered all our questions and we had many about the canadian legislature. The libray is really... More

We stopped by on Saturday, March 12 at about 2pm. The building was locked. In response to our testing the front door, a security guard appeared and said that they are never open on Saturdays. TripAdvisor information about the hours for this site is possibly incorrect.

I find this place really interesting as our laws are discussed here and other changes that effect us here in the Province. It is also very interesting to walk around and visit.

We were cruise ship passengers and decided to take our own walking tour of Halifax. The ship docked close to most attractions. We stopped at Province house and were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff member who directed us and even turned into A tour guide explaining some of the artifacts and history of the building and Canada. I... More
