Worth a wander

This wharf has some nice shops and it worth a visit. Gahan - the bar/restaurant at the end is a great place for a drink either inside or out and does great food.

Unfortunately alot of the seasonal outdoor shops were closed as we were there on the Thanksgiving weekend. I'd love to go back during the summer season.

I recently went here early on a Saturday morning with a photographer and my family to have our yearly family photos taken (for Xmas cards and the like). It was nice to see the place not being extremely crowded as has been the case all summer. There are some very pretty buildings and all sorts of "props" to stage your... More

While it's fun to stroll around a bit, the historic properties gave me a very Disney-esque vibe--the restoration is attractive, but the area doesn't feel authentic. I think that's a plus for some visitors, but not so much for me. If you can't think of any other way to spend some time in Halifax, this isn't a terrible option, but... More

Beautifully restored warehouses, now restaurants, stores and offices containing any number of very good restaurants and beautiful harbor views. Creative re-use done right.

When the weather is nice, there is no better place to stroll but the boardwalk along the Halifax waterfront amidst the historic properties. Try out the food stalls (lobster rolls, yum), check out the crafts and enjoy a nap on the hammocks.

Great place to stroll on a nice day, lots of good restaurants, or food stalls to grab a snack or meal. Shopping largely aimed at tourists, but plenty of locals enjoy the locale as well

This spot where a few remaining historic buildings that were not destroyed in the Great Fire. There are expensive shops and some touristy restaurants that are overpriced. Still a nice place to walk through.
