Meat Cove is a beautiful location at the tip of Cape Breton. It can be a pain to access because of dirt roads and the long drive but it's well worth for the view you get all along the roads of Cape Smokey. There are three different locations to stay in Meat Cove: the Hines Ocean View Lodge, Meat Cove... More

Great spot with a great campsite, waterfront views, excellent sunsets. A bit of a drive but well worth it!

I've been visiting Meat Cove since the late 70's. To me it is peaceful paradise. In recent years we make an annual motorcycle pilgrimage to the end of the highway and camp for several days before heading to Warf Rat Rally in Digby. We do a little hiking, kayaking, fishing, photography and just relaxing and enjoying the stars at night,... More

We drove north of Cabot Trail on to Meat Cove on a gravel road. Hoped to see moose but only saw what they left behind! Beautiful view from northernmost tip of Nova Scotia.

We'd heard that the six-mile road to Meat Cove was sketchy, but it was in good repair and didn't present problems for our Class B van. The road is mostly gravel, but seemed to have been recently paved on some of the steeper sections. The seafood chowder at the Chowder House was super good. The campground is suited mostly for... Weren't sure about taking the extra time to go to Meat Cove, some said it was worth it others said don't bother. We took the extra time to drive to the tip on a curvy road. When we came out at Meat Cove the view was nice but no better then other viewing points right off the Trans Canada highway.... More

Meat Cove certainly has a beautiful drive in and is a stunning destination. Having said that there are similar views that are easier to get to along the trail. Going to Meat Cove is one of those things that a person should do just to say they did it. Going to the northern most tip of Nova Scotia is more... More

Meat Cove is located in the northern tip of Cape Breton and is a small community at the end of the road. The trip to Meat Cove offers some great coastal scenery and ends in a small community with a rocky beach head. There is a small eatery and tenting facility on the hill overlooking the cove. Nice place to... More

This hidden gem is worth the drive. It is Cape Breton's most northern tip! Just stopping to enjoy the beauty is entertainment enough. There is a small gift shop and restaurant with lobster rolls that are sure to make you smile. If you follow the road behind the gift shop to the end, you will see a trail marker. It... More

Followed the road until it ended at meat cove campground. The chowder hut was just that.....a hut. But the chowder was very good!! Best to travel up here with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The road turns into gravel/dirt with many pot holes towards the end. The view is great. A good side trip off the Cabot trail if you... More
