We purposely drove our car to Meat Cove to see the view from the cliffs above and to experience the beach below. It was worth the hour it took to arrive there. At the top is a very quiet and small campground. View is astounding.

Drove up from Cheticamp what a trip, roads variable but the view and food and warm welcome worth all the effort....really encourage anyone driving in Cape Breton to add it to their itinerary!

We stayed 3 days in Meat Cove. Beautiful scenery with lots of hiking trails. There is a public beach next to the camp sites where you can cool off in the brisk water. They have a great little restaurant on site and the food is...More

This place is for four-wheelers, primitive campers, and folks who want little to nothing to do with another human being. Just know what you are doing before you set out on the road to nowhere.

Remote area. You have to camp there to experience the beauty at Meat Cove. We camped there for one night. There is a beach you can get down to and there is a secret hiking trail you can hike out further with beautiful view.

Meat Cove is an interesting drive off the Cabot Trail - most of the road is paved but the last part of the drive is a dirt road. The payoff for the rough drive is finding the most northerly village in Cape Breton. It is...More

The view is very average. It is not worth the drive of 1.5 hrs+ unless you have a lot of time. There is no parking, no facilities, just a camp ground and a restaurant.

Loved this cove! Camp right on the hill, no bugs because always a breeze. Take the 20 minute hike up for fantastic views. The rocky beach is secluded and lovely, the water is a touch cold but our dog loved it. Try the chowder from...More

If you are doing the Cabot Trail you must take the drive to Meat Cove. If you don't you are missing the Northern most part of NS. There are cute little cabins and campground there in a setting that will not disappoint!
