This was the best experiences I had so far. It's just breathtaking. When you drive on Cabot Trail to get to the Skyline trail and after you park, (make sure to purchase parking ticket when you pass keltic lodge) we chose to take the longer way which I recommend you do. Through out the hike, you'd stop at attractions for... More

Easy/moderate trail with a spectacular view. Did not see any moose :( This is a really popular trail so there are a lot of hikers on the trail. The trail is a big long loop - so when you reach the split, you have an option to heading to the right or left. The trail on the left is a... More

We got here at 7am on a very foggy morning and were the first ones in the parking lot. We walked through the trail and saw a moose munching on grass in the mist! It was such an eerie, awesome scene! Highlight of the whole trip to Cape Breton. The whole trail was covered in mist until about 9am when... More

The scenery at the main viewing point is incredibly beautiful. Rest of the trail is a good hike and got us moving. Loved it over all and definitely would recommend it.

The most memorable trail in all of Nova Scotia. Spectacular vies of the mountains and ocean. 1000ft or so in elevation, Quiet mid distance hike with low grades, not too steep for seniors or children. you will often see moose in their natural setting . don't miss this one. If you are physically active bike the mountain and walk the... More

I'd done a number of searchers and checks on what to see and do along the Cabot Trail. One thing I didn't spot until a day before driving the route was the Skyline Trail. We'd packed boots and water which were both needed. The trail parking spot is just north of Chetticamp. It is not an easy route as it... More

The trail leads to a breathtaking view over the ocean. It's easy, no wet rocks or steep climbs. The trail is mostly gravel, a wide path. We went on a very windy day. It was so windy near the end of the trail--about 40 mph-- that I opted not to go all the way; it felt as if the wind... More

I have done this hike many times and and am always amazed at the scenery. Evenings are the best time to see moose.
