Everything was extra at night for the viewing. Very commercial. We went dog sledding in the afternoon which was good but only took 15 minutes. Had a lot of free time with nothing to do. They invited everyone to roast marshmallows but you were limited to one marshmallow. Asked for a second one and they said no.

We had a relaxed night here, hanging out in the teepee and taking walks. The weather was mild for february, which brought the clouds in so no aurora was visible. Because of that it was probably much less crowded than it would be on a clear night. The guide and stove monitor were nice and friendly. It's a beautiful place,... More

It is difficult to give a rating to Aurora Village. Some things were quite good, others not so good. I can't blame them for the first two nights of my trip when the skies were overcast, with nothing to see. Likewise I can't give them credit for the third night when it was clear and the aurora put on a... More

This was our second aurora excursion for the trip, so we do have something to compare to. This facility is huge, kind of have a bit of ski resort type of feel, but with heated Teepees instead of cabins. The facility is about 25 min. from the city and is supposedly also for other activities during the day such as... More

We went on an afternoon visit to aurora village. We did a combination of dog sledding and snow shoe walks. It was great fun. There was also an ice slide, fire pit to melt marshmallows and a tippee to warm up with hot chocolate provided between activities. The staff... both interpreters and dog handlers were interactive and friendly which enhanced... More

Went on a cloudy evening, but still took some great pictures of the teepees. You are assigned a teepee, where hot drinks are available and a wood stove to warm up. Professional photos are quite expensive, but was happy to rent a tripod for $10 for the evening and take my own photos. Would definitely book this aurora viewing tour... More

I would give a zero rating for customer service if I could. We called the office on the morning of our aurora viewing to find out when our rental winter wear would be delivered. The lady said she had no idea. When told we have an aurora viewing booked with them the same night, she said it would be sometime... More

No shops or cafes for tourists to patronize. Snowmobile, dog sledding, snowshoeing and Snowmobile are the activities available at the village. If you take only an activty there then you can spend the rest of your waiting in the tipi before you return to town.

They have an area around prosperous lake, with many tents. Unlimited coffe/tea/hot chocolate inside, and bathrooms WITH HEAT (if you have ever been to YK for tours, you know how important that is in winter). They also have firepits where you can toast marshmallows. A ice slop ride, a ice "throne". They also do other activities (snowshoes, ice fishing etc)... More
