It’s next to heritage museum but nothing is worth wide to see and you can’t walk around freely without permission. You can go up second floor to watch the meeting of the city government but you need to leave all stuff in cloakroom. Besides, no other activity is worthy to see.

We had the pleasure of visiting the legislature building while on a recent trip to Yellowknife. The building is very unique as is Northwest Territories Governance. There is a tour at 10:30 a.m. every morning by a young lady in communications. Lots to see and learn. The tour is about 20 minutes, but worth it.

The free tour is a must do. Was brought here by a local colleague and I was skeptical but it completely blew me away. So informative and kept me engaged even though I am not a history buff/museum lover. Definitely worth the visit.

The tour began at 10:30 and the presenter was well informed. We had a tour of the chambers and what a treat to have the painting of one of the group of seven. The mace was also uniquely designed. We did sit in the final session but the acoustics were poor. The cafe was a pleasant treat.

Worth stopping by here to checkout the government set up in the NWT. I believe there are tours you can do but the day i was there i was free to have a look around the public areas on my own and have a chat to the security guard who was very friendly and helpful in answering any questions i had

We visited the Legislative Building on the last day of our visit to Yellowknife and wished we had visited earlier. We arrived for the 10:30 am tour and were treated to a very informative and intimate (small group) tour of the building. Our guide provided us with some very interesting history and current information about the North West Territories and the workings of the territorial government. The building is filled with local artifacts and art and offers visitors with a glimpse into the workings of a territorial government. The staff were informative, friendly and eager to help with our questions. This is worth the 45 minutes to tour.

Great for people interested in politics and legislature in the north. Its a hop away from the Northern Heritage centre and can be seen in one day. Tours are only available in the mornings, and some areas are restricted.

Excellent free daily tours, dives into details of the artwork, history, politics. Well worth the hour it takes. Adjacent to the Visitors Centre and the Museum (Heritage Centre). Good café offering the usual plus authentic Filipino dishes.
