We pre booked a make your own glass workshop. $55 includes 1 item $18 value or less. Lots to choose from. We had soo much fun creating our glass that we made a bunch more to bring home. They bubble wrap and box them for travel. It is a neat thing to do. They recycle everything here. Great little spot.... More

Not only do we go to Old Town Glassworks to see their beautiful "artwork" for sale, but we were also able to take a glass etching workshop. It was fun!! Our instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful, allowing us to be creative with the stencils. The sandblast etching was fun and quite easy to do. My daughter and I had... More

This is an excellent place to spend an hour or so being creative and learning about repurposing old/recycled glass! The instructor was careful about safety, and gave great directions on how to apply the templates, and then how to sand-blast the glass, then we went ahead and made our own. It was a wonderful interactive experience and I really enjoyed... More

We really enjoyed meeting the owners. It was a very enjoyable hands-on experience. You get to actually sand blast your glass piece yourself. It's really nice to learn a bit about the local culture of green up-cycling. If you sign up for the workshop (which we heartily recommend!) you get to see a demonstration and take home your very own... More

My teenage daughter and I did a glass etching workshop at Glassworks, and it was absolutely a highlight of our trip to Yellowknife. I am not a crafty person, and frankly didn't think I would enjoy it much, or be able to complete anything worth using. We were blown away - the workshop is a delightful, cozy makerspace, and our... We really enjoyed the workshop. The instructor was very helpful and even assisted my disabled husband to make a special drinking glass. Very kind guy. It's surprisingly easy to make unique souvenirs here. Tip: Register in advance. We tried to go back for a second session of studio time but were disappointed because it was sold out.

I've been to this place a couple times to do the two hour glass works workshop. Once was with my Mom and the other was with friends who had their 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter with them. We had a blast on boat occasions. They show you how they cut glass bottles and how they file... More

This place is a great workers co-operative that takes the Old Town way of life seriously and is a great example of what it means to recycle. Everyone is always very friendly to assist in the workshops and make sure that you have a great piece of art you can be proud of to take home.

Great local Recycler, unique Souvenirs and experience if you book a class. Great way to spend an afternoon with the family or girls. Many northern artists do sell their products here. Robbie Craigs coffee mugs are beautiful, as well as his scarves and prints. Small pieces of jewellery and christmas ornaments are always available made by northern crafters. We have... More
