The Grand Concourse is an award-winning, integrated system of walkways that links waterways, parks, and scenic attractions into a pedestrian network throughout the Northeast Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland. It is a "Walker's Paradise" that spans more than 160 km from Signal Hill in St. John's, through Mount Pearl, to Octagon Pond in Paradise. The network is currently expanding into the Towns of Conception Bay South, Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, and Torbay. The walkways are well maintained with directional signage along the way. Many walks are wheel-chair accessible and several accommodate cycling and seasonal cross-country skiing.

As an avid back country (i.e. NO human trails, paths) and living just outside the City we have had occasion to use portions of the Grand Concourse for our daily or weekend tramp. This 'wrap of the city' is due in no small part to the generous gift of the Johnson Family, and what a Gift to give a City.... More

This trail is a great way to explore every corner of the city. The trails are very scenic since they pass ponds and what wilderness can be found in St. John's. A few of the trails even lead to parks and playgrounds. The terrain of the trails vary. Signs are posted every so often saying which trail you are on.... More

GCA trails are all over the metro area and are the connections between some of the best sight-seeing in St. John's. Some of the best trails are Quidi Vidi Lake, Rennies River, Cuckolds Cove and the Heritage Walk.
