If your one for walking you can walk to the top of Signal Hill through peoples front and backyards. The sights from the top are amazing. In the distance you can see Cape Spear where they communicated by flag signals to warn of danger. The...More

Great experience to stand where Marconi sent the first wireless message to the Continent. We had a great day. Clear skies. We were on a tour with McCarthy's Tours. Francis was a wonderful guide.

Foggy day made for a eerie walk. Obviously the views are eliminated but the atmosphere was worth it (esp with the Ft. Amherst fog horn blowing). Tower has really good character and has a little gift shop to warm up in before continuing on. The...More

We drove to the top of signal hill (alternatively you can walk) as it was quite cold the day we were there. There are a number of trails you can take around signal hill as well as a small museum in the tower. Great views...More

Some awesome lessons and great views. Nice easy hike that was fun for the whole family. The view of both St. John's and the ocean was incredible. Was cool to see icebergs from the shore.

Signal Hill is the location where Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless transmission and was the location of military fortifications. It's location, high above St. John's provides great views of the city, harbour and harbour entrance and of the Atlantic Ocean. Have a look around...More

We had a great day walking around Signal Hill. Inside Cabot Tower are story boards about Marconi's trans-Atlantic wireless transmission. Outside are trails of various lengths. The view of the St. John's harbour is great, and really makes the trip worth it.

Not to be missed if you're in St. John's, the view is incomparable! The walk can be very challenging if you don't take the road. We took the hiking trail, would not recommend that walk for children or anyone not in decent shape. If either...More

As far as I'm concerned, Signal Hill is a must for the view. The Rooms was good, but exhausting to see it all and if you're not into museums, don't go if you only have 4 days. We took an O'Brien's Bay Bulls boat tour and... More

The tattoo is only on certain days and times. It wasn't on when I was visiting but I would look on their website. I would say no seating - it's in a field. I doubt there are reservations.
