The title "Reversing Falls" is misleading, as there is no true waterfall. However, there is a strong, surging river that is spectacular at the right time. That time is when the river and the Bay Of Fundy's tide collide- approximately every six hours. We were...More

To get the full effect here you really have to be here at the right time. Nice view of the river though!

It was interesting to see the change of direction of the flow of the river. It was not as dramatic as I had expected. It just looked like the river was flowing the other direction.

These are badly misnamed. There are no 'falls' more like rapids. While its neat to see them when reversed so the ocean at high tide is coming in, the rapids are also very cool at low tide. But sadly the people here built two restaurants...More

So glad we had a tour guide while in New Brunswick. He knew exactly what times to have us there to witness both high and low tide so we could witness the reversing rapids. Timing is everything with this experience!! So glad we didnt miss...More

After reading some of the less than exciting reviews here I was not expecting much. However, after I learned about the amazing phenomenon of the St. John river reversing course twice a day, I had to see it. I was able to make it about...More

My wife and I stopped at the park overlooking swirling water. Not real sure what we were looking at as there are no falls to speak of. Way of getting tourists off highway for a stop in Saint Johns. Better off to keep driving and...More

New Brunswick seems to have it all--- trees, land, nice people, no traffic to speak off, laid back driving etc. So coming up to St. John reversing falls was a pleasant and interesting thing to see which only happens in this area.

Plan on coming here during both times of the day (check schedules online) to get the full effect. Tour guide was telling us how this worked but we did not understand it until we saw with our eyes. Amazing!

Boring....very...waste of our time. Not much to see at all. Just movement of some water back and forth.

How would I walk from my cruise ship to the observation deck and then walk into town before returning to the ship? Is the walkway on a sidewalk, etc? Thanx

I just would like to know whether I have to write cruise ship and disembarkment time in order to join "Fundy Coast to Fundy Shore Tour" ? If I was attempted to book the tour though, they say they need to write it even though I won't do cruising.

Which is the better place to view the reversing waterfall? St. John's or Hopewell Rocks?

I thought Hopewell rocks was the better of the two. Reversing falls is cool, but to see it at its best you have to time it completely correct. Hopewell rocks are similar with having to look at the time, but it has a lot... More
