The Okanagan Science Centre makes science fun for everyone. Come enjoy hands-on science exhibits and activities with the whole family. From March to August, we are displaying Dinosaurs Unearthed - an exciting exhibition of Animatronic Dinosaurs and Dinosaur Fossils. We are home to the only fixed roof planetarium in the BC Interior. All year round we offer Planetarium Shows, Gyro Chair rides, and other science activities--check our website for monthly schedule. We offer a unique collection of hands-on science exhibits, including a Discovery Room for younger children, an Amazon Biotope, a Climbing Wall, a Robotic Clock we built here at the Science Centre, Bert our bearded dragon, and Bitey McBiteface our piranha. We host school field trips, put on a range of Science Camps during breaks from school, and offer themed birthday parties.

It's sometimes hard to figure out what to do with kids on the weekend in Vernon (especially in poor weather) and our recent visit to the Science Centre with the kids reminded me how much they LOVE it here. Lots of hands on activities and items for them to play with (although they always gravitate to the space shuttle simulation... More

We often stop by the the Science Centre for the Saturday experiments. The presenters (often Kevin or Clark) are always up to something interesting and more importantly engaging the audience in an activity - today we built a thermometer. My young son enthusiastically plans our next trip almost immediately. It's a small centre but very engaging - try to time... More

I just recently moved to the area and discovered the Okanagan - what an amazing place and what a treasure not only for the community but for the greater Okanagan and for visitors. This place appeals to children of all ages and to adults with inquiring minds. I most certainly recommend it. I will bring my grandchildren h

A great indoor learning experience for both young and old. As Grandparent, we were looking for places to entertain our Grandchildren - especially indoors on rainy days.

Took my grand-kids here; they loved it and I even learned a few things. Too bad some of the attractions were broken/closed at the time of our visit.

Went in to pass a rainy afternoon. The receptionist was friendly but she was the only one there. The science centre seems to be abit in need of a face lift. Get passed the old worn out look and there was some interesting discoveries. Our granddaughter who is four enjoyed the plane and interactive displays.

Thank you for the review. I'm sorry you caught us at a bad time. September can be a bit slow, when children go back to school and school trips haven't started coming in yet. I hope you will give us another try soon. And starting in March, Dinosaurs Unearthed is at the Okanagan Science Centre for 6 months. More

We have annual passes through the ASTC, so we went here under the free passport program. There were defintely some unique and fun exhibits that the kids enjoyed. But there were a number of exhibits that were also not working. There was no staff anywhere to be seen, other than the person at the entrace desk. I'm not sure if... More

Thank you for your review. We are usually pretty busy on Summer Days and have a full staff there doing summer camps. Sorry if you caught us when we were a bit off our game. I hope you can come back in and visit. We have been working hard to fix and/or replace exhibits that have been down. More

The family season pass is an excellent deal, plus you can take your family to other science centers, such as Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton for free with your local pass. We took our kids there every week while they were growing up and there are also special deals offered to members on special events.
