Polson Park is located near the heart of Vernon, adjacent to Highway 97 and Highway 6. The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite and also a Centennial project, is located in the south east of the park. Specific areas of the park can be reserved for your special event such as weddings, social gatherings and concerts.

Polson Park is very easy to get to...right off the main highway as you travel through Vernon. It has lots of trees..so lots of shade on the hot days. There is a stream of sorts that attracts ducks and geese and small children with bread crumbs. There is a large running track there that one can use as a 30... More

We went to go to the park for a walk...and feed the ducks. It is a very pretty park even in the winter. The pond was not frozen...the ducks came flying across the park into the water to see us with our feed. My granddaughter had so much fun!! I took a lot of pictures to share. We will definitely... If you have had a hectic day on the highway you can quickly find peace and quiet. This beautiful, well maintained park is in the center of the city, a wonderful place to sit on a bench and nap for a few minutes or give the kids a chance to burn off some energy! It is also just a few... More

Find shade on a hot day. Enjoy the many birds that find Polson Park their home. The creek is refreshing. The grounds are well kept and there is something for everyone to enjoy including the playground and water spray park. We picnic here often and use the walking trails.

Have always driven by but never stopped so one day I did. This is a well landscaped, well maintained park at the junction of two busy roadways but you would seldom know that when you are in the centre of the park. Very nice areas and tables for sitting at, as well as strategically placed benches to break up your... More

I always have enjoyed Polson Park. It's a beautiful park, located right in the heart of downtown Vernon. There are beautiful gardens to walk through, fitness area to work out, play grounds for the children, a water park and many relaxing areas to lay down in the grass or sit on a bench and simply take it easy. The reason... More

The park definitely has a number of good attractions. The homeless contingent and the seedy parts of the park are not attractive. After dark is not an option and would be very dangerous.
