This 154-acre are was declared a public park in 1843, and has been Victoria's pride and joy ever since. Several lakes, large and small, surrounded by tall trees and flowering shrubs are a favourite with ducks, turtles, herons and bald eagles. A Childrens Farm complete...More

We drove around Beacon Hill Park on a blustery day, yet it was very special. Great views out over the sea, with Washington just across the misty waters.

If you are a text book bus tourist who likes gift shops and line ups don’t go here. Buchart Gardens is a bus ride away.

This is a very nice park but it is big and attractions are spread out. We liked the end by the ocean the best. Mile 0, Terry Fox statue and the highest totem are right next to the ocean. There is a path along the...More

A lovely stroll from our hotel on Douglas St uphill (but not too strenuous) to the viewpoint on the South side. Beautiful fountains, rocks, arbutus trees, peacocks, well sited picnic places - something for everyone here.

So many people visit Victoria and spend a lot of time, trouble and cash to see Butchart gardens, but never bother to see this splendid park right in downtown Victoria. Beacon Hill is one of the loveliest urban parks one could visit. It is large,...More

I visited this park in August. It's a beautiful place to spend time. Beautiful peacocks walking around, herons nesting in the middle of the park. There's music in the park that's nice to just sit and listen. A great way to spend a whole day....More

Overnight parking is not permitted in the Park. There is a general provision in the Victoria By-Laws that also limits parking in parks to 3.5 hours during the day. I doubt if this is enforced in Beacon Hill though.

Yes , it is dog friendly provided that WOOF is on a lead. Certain areas such as the zoo area do not allow dogs inside that area. A large area , just across from Beacon Hill park ( along side waters edge) is a great area for... More

Well the trees are a little larger since 1969. Not sure if naming post is there. At the North end of the Park (Southgate) by the Ball & Soccer field's.
