A Night at the Theatre

This is a wonderful venue for theatre and music. The acoustics are great and the seating is comfortable.

The name the Royal Theatre is a bit of a misnomer there is nothing "Royal" about this theatre! The interior is faux "Royal", the seating is adequate but the ticketing service is poor the ushers are unhelpful and the bar is poorly stocked.

A grand theatre, with wonderful events. Victoria is lucky to have such a place downtown. WE are glad to live closer now so we go more often.

I have personally seen the ballet here a few times, the Pointer Sisters, BJ Thomas, Rocky Horror Picture show, a few choice Comedians, a few choice professional choirs and a few Christmas plays. It's a smaller theatre (seats about 1400) - classic and somewhat ornate. Perfect venue for an intimate experience really. It's right downtown so there are many places... More

I have been in the Royal Theatre several times in my lifetime for various types of shows. I like the style of the classical decor. The seats are comfortable and their are no difference between the cheap and expensive seats. Every seat has a good view of the stage. I do wish the various shows would spend more money and... More

This theatre has great acoustics for its age. I am a regular Victoria Symphony ticket holder and have also gone to other events here including Jazz Festival concerts. The staff are always very friendly and it has great character.

This theatre reminds me of my childhood, the red curtains, the gold decor, the tiny balconies. I love it for the symphony concerts. Downsides, this type of theatre feels crowded, can feel stuffy. There are long waits for the bathrooms. But overall, I like it, and I've always heard and seen well.

Went to the Royal Theatre to see Nellie Furtado and Victoria Symphony as part of a fundraiser for local Syrian refugees. The building is delightful throwback to old world luxury, with the small but traditional stage and surrounds. Acoustics were excellent and seats plush and very comfy. The lobby area was not as remarkable, and they did lack for proper... More

Being born and raised in Victoria I can't even count the amount of times I have been to the Royal. Clean, a little tight for us plus size folks. The best seats in the house if you can get them are called loge seats on the upper level. Regular seats with leg room and wider seats. You look right forward... More

I love this place.I love the atmosphere and the buzz of a smaller, cozier venue. I have watched several concerts here and had an amazing time. The only draw back being is that this venue is not meant for rock bands whose sound is much larger than the place can handle. These bands need to play at SAVE ON FOODS arena... More
