One of the main theaters in Victoria, it has some of the look and feel of London's West End. Pleasant, can be a little tight, much like the West End.... Small enough to feel included in a performance, and yet large enough for principal events.

This is a charming old theatre with an air of grandeur but with an intimate setting both for visiting musical acts, the symphony, the opera and the ballet.

I attended my granddaughter and grandson's dance recital at the Royal Theatre. It was great and even though the Royal Theatre is very old it still has ambiance.

I have attended numerous events at this theatre over 30ish years. The building has great character and the volunteers / staff at the theatre are always very helpful. Most seats are excellent, but we avoid the upper balcony as it warms up a fair bit.

I can't count the number of amazing concerts I have seen here: Great Big Sea, Celtic Thunder and Jann Arden to name a few! It's home to the Victoria Symphony and the Naden Band often plays there too.

Charming, small, intimate, easy in, easy out; simple elegance, good acoustics. Even at the last minute I have been able to get first class tickets for world class performances at reasonable rates. Can't do that in Vancouver. Interesting and entertaining - wide range of performances....More

We recently attended a play that was excellent at the Royal. In spite of a sizable crowd we were seated quickly and efficiently. The theatre is not too big, so I would imagine the view from any seat is good. We were close to the...More
