On Nov 25, 2022, I booked a four-night stay in July 2023 at Mile-Zero.
Today, Jan 19, 2023, nearly two months later, I received an email canceling my reservation. I did not request the cancelation.
I called the hotel and they told me that it was a computer error to take my initial reservation and that now they were not taking reservations for the 2023 season due to "personal reasons."
This is an outrageous way to do business.
Fortunately, I was able to cover myself in another hotel.

Mile Zero is significant because of what it is (the far end of the Trans-Canada Highway). More importantly, it is inspiring because of its connection to Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope. It's in a grassy park, so there's plenty of room. I went multiple times and never found it crowded (lots of chances to take pictures if you like). There is also a statue of Terry Fox nearby.

This is a must-see in Canada, and definitely if you're in Victoria. I would recommend it for anyone, but particularly for school-aged children/youth/teens as the Terry Fox story is a big topic of study in most schools (especially elementary). Seeing Mile Zero and the statue make the lessons mean so much more.

This is a perfect place for all to pause and think about an inspiring and remarkable Canadian hero.

Note that Mile Zero is at a bit of a distance from the main areas of Victoria, so you might want to visit it as part of a tour (such as a hop on hop off bus).

If you are driving, it's a no-brainer. Park and have a look at the start (or finish) of Highway 1. If you're on foot, and energetic, sure. In any case, Beacon Hill park is a must-see in Victoria. A lovely urban park, especially in spring or summer.

It is a marker in a middle of a nice park. It is the start of the highway 1 which crosses Canada. A must see

Historical mark with it deep gratitude to the dedicated workers who were involved to the Trans Canada Transportation. The fastest transportation we are enjoying today is the product of the hardship from Zero Mile history.

It's a very pretty location for the beginning of the Trans Canada Highway that crosses our country from coast to coast. The Terry Fox statue is right by the Mile 0 and it is adjacent to the beautiful Beacon Hill Park. Very scenic area overlooking the water.

On this trip we biked from the cruise ship terminal to this location and enjoyed relaxing in the park before heading further along the ride.

I understand the significance of this, but it does not make it any more interesting or worthwhile. The views out over the water may be a better option Visit it if you feel that you must, but there is not really anything to see

I wanted to visit this as we know parts of the TCH very well and had not been before. As others say, a little underwhelming, but then after all it is just a sign.

I would not make a special trip, but if you are passing, worth stopping off.

Right on the edge of Beacon Park "Mile Zero" is, of itself, of little interest but it was the start of Terry Fox's trans Canada Run. A fitting tribute to the athlete is just behind the marker.
