We did a short hike in the park (about an hr) which lead us to the beautiful view by Lake Helen Mackenzie where we took a short break to dip our feet in the nice cool water. The weather was nice and warm and even...More

Beautiful park! We drove through here on one of our little outings while staying in Campbell River. We found a nice stop to pull over and just chill out while looking at the view. A must see if you are in the area.

We camped (tent) at Ralph River campgrounds for 2 nights. The campground was a 2-3 min walk from Buttle lake, with a spectacular view of several mountains. There are several trails and viewpoints along the main roads within the park. We saw an elk calf,...More

After visiting Mount Washington, we dropped down to the Park and took the shortish boardwalk trail, about 3-4 km in total. What a stunning , peaceful and absolutely beautiful place. Sadly we didn't have time to come back on another day but we certainly plan...More

Honestly, I'd say skip it. There are far more beautiful places all over the island... to see "majestic" you need to hike out of the easy. Hope that helps! Check out the group "take a hike Vancouver island" on Facebook... More
