We where at Kits beach and followed the path west, past the pool to find this quite trail that lead to a quite beach area. At sunset it was a beautiful to see the city and inlet from a different perspective.

West 10th Avenue leads to the University of BC Gates. The village on West 10th has interesting stores and is a nice walking area. It's a posh district but has the air of the old families who first built there.

Makes me think why have homes in a prime location with marvelous views and busy, narrow roads. Uncomfortable driving through. I would not like to live or visit the people living there, only drive through.

This is a nice leafy area, with a mix of old homes and newer ones, plus some shopping. Not a must-see, but worth a visit if you have extra time.

A lovely beach front Vancouver area that overlooks English Bay from the west. A terrific walking, cycling, and jogging area.

Lived here for several years and though I may have a slight bias, to me it is the best neighbourhood in Vancouver from its fabulous restaurants to its lovely little shops! Tenth Avenue is a must...and a visit to one of the many beaches!

It's a great area of town...a few blocks from kits one way, a few blocks from kerrisdale the other. West broadway will be great shops and the old Greek area. Point Grey has great shops and beautiful old streets to walk down. Good place to live too

If you want to see a good view of downtown Vancouver and the West End, go to Trimble Park or park your car on West 8th Avenue and Discovery Street. I grew up in this neighbourhood and it always brings back fond memories. The streets are beautifully lined with mature trees. The architecture of the homes are always unique and... More

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
