The area
Address
Neighbourhood: West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.

Was a nice place to visit however, now does not feel safe.

The location is nice, trails are nice, pond is lovely, view is great.

However, there are a few cyclists (not the majority) that race along Jericho and the trails. While you can avoid them for the most part on the wider sections, on the Jericho trails, it's dangerous and nothing is done about it.

So, living so close and no longer going is sad. Until the city starts being concerned about pedestrian safety I can't recommend Jericho Beach and particularly the trails; for anyone with mobility issues or small kids, this is not the place to go.

Jericho park and beach is one of the most beautiful parks in Vancouver.
You have the ocean and the walking trails in the back that are natural and full of birds. You could easily spend an afternoon here walking, biking, sitting on the beach or on a park bench listening to the birds or watching the bunnies.

Avoid the weekend as it gets busy in summer. But during the week was a dream. Free parking. Decent concessions for lunch or a snack, or bring a picnic. When the tide is out you can walk a long way out. Gorgeous views of the city and across at the mountains.

Lots of people love this beach, in the summer you'll see lots of sailing happening around here as the club is beside the beach. It's clean and has a fantastic view of the city of Vancouver, check it out at night time too, its gorgeous.

We planned a last minute trip to Vancouver from Calgary. We were downtown for a seminar then dinner and were driving to English Bay when there were police at each road heading to the waterfront. We stopped and asked what was going on and he said the fireworks. We couldn't believe we happened to be there for the first night of the fireworks. We knew we would never find parking near English Bay so we drove to Kits and found the same thing. We drove down Cornwall and came to Jericho beach. There was good parking and it wasn't full yet at 9 pm. The beach had a great view of downtown and families had already started getting their spots. We had a great view of the fireworks and were so glad we found Jericho beach to enjoy them at.

Plenty of space, able to take walks, relax and the scenery is beautiful. One of the few beaches with open access, no fee for parking, no commercial sites in the area, just people, sand, water, trees and a beautiful view of the downtown and the North Shore.

This beach is free to the public with free parking. There is a large changing room for swimsuits and of course a bathroom. There are sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, wide walking/riding trails, kayaking, a playground, picnic tables and a large sandy beach. What a wonderful place for all ages.

Worth making the journey too, a little out of downtown the beach is much quieter. Good place to watch the sunsets from. There are lots of rabbits just roaming the beach!
