We stayed at the Shangrila Hotel. So we would go around and walk downtown a lot. It is very scenic and also very safe.

Downtown has a lot to offer but parking is a huge concern and its expensive. Use transit if you can so you dont have to worry about your car and so you can relax as you take in the shops and restaurants. If you dont...More

The hotel was spotlessly clean rooms are large and well appointed. The hotel has it's own restaurant which was expensive. Located right next door to the Plaza shopping centre which is handy.

This is one of the most livable cities in North America. Care has been paid to give pedestrians, cyclists and residents priority in this bustling city. There are countless places to walk, sip coffee, bike or sit on a bench and read and all are...More

We live in Vancouver and love staying downtown. So many hotels, with good rates in the slower months. Walk around the streets, the harbour, play tourists in your own city. Excellent choices of restaurants, bars, coffee shops.

There are numerous attractions available... Stanley Park for a walk along the seawall with the mountain range available for stunning views, the vast number of beaches, sports events, Granville Island for theatre and food, and then a wander through Gas Town and its shops and...More

Enjoyed going around but avoid East Hastings St as this is where there are a lot of homeless/drug users definitely don't go here at night. Went to Chinatown really disappointing we were really looking forward to authentic food everywhere looked really dirty.

I was there in September and I don't believe Vancouver has much snow. We were told many Canadians retire to that area because of the "warmer" winters. However, Whistler has snow almost all year round. It is about 90 min... More

Vancouver is a "walking" city with great public transit. Whistler is a great little town, but if you only have one day, I would skip it as it's quite a drive there & back. Instead, I would enjoy Stanley, Granville Island... More
