The presenter/guide was very clever in adopting roles showing the history of Gastown, as well as acting and singing parts. She knew all the area and personalities and made the evening amusing as well as informative. Overall a very good evening's entertainment as well as an history lesson.

Our guide (Will) was very informative and the Prohibition Walking Tour was thoroughly enjoyable. This tour was for 2 hours and I would recommend it to anybody interested in some of the history of Vancouver.

This tour was something else altogether! I knew ahead I was in for a different experience, but this experience exceeded all my expectation! The guide was super informative and so impressive, I think all of the participants were fascinated by the way she presented the history and acted the different historical figures. I was so intrigued by how she told... More

I had the pleasure of going on the Lost Souls of Gastown tour the other week and it was fantastic. As someone who has lived in Vancouver my whole life, the tour shed light on aspects and places in the cities history that I only knew vague pieces of. The tour illuminates this history and the guide, Nevada, was fabulous... More

I've had the opportunity to participate in both the 'Lost Souls of Gastown' and 'Prohibition City' tours offered by Forbidden Vancouver. In each instance, I found myself discovering interesting, quixotic, and surprising pieces of Vancouver history - and viewing the city I live in through fresh eyes. I had the same guide in both instances (Nevada), who was charismatic, full... More

This was *such* a fun tour. Our guide, Nevada, looked the part in a vintage outfit straight from the late 19th century, and was both friendly, helpful, and in character throughout the evening. We walked from place to place around Gastown, stopping in interesting hotels and alleyways along the way to discover unknown history of the city. The tour itself... More

Hi Zgrams! Thank you for your review! Nevada was so pleased to read it - she's just come on board with the Lost Souls of Gastown - I think you were on only her 2nd or 3rd tour! "A night at the theatre ... but outside" - couldn't have said it better ourselves! Hope to see you again before too... More

great fun, terrific guide with lots of acting talent,. She really wore the part and did a good job. Learned lots about a time and space in Vancouver that I didn't know even though we were born here. A fun way to spend a couple of hours and end the tour in an enteresting part of the city to continue... More

15 girlfriends - all from Vancouver - thoroughly enjoyed our informed and fun tour guide, Will. Even though we are born and raised Vancouverites, we were staggered at the history, architecture, and 'inside scoop' we gained over our 2 hour walk throughout Chinatown. We particularly loved hearing about the early days in the city, and the scoundrels who ran it.... More

She did some researching and discovered the great folks at Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tours. They were willing to do a custom Art Deco tour for us at a very reasonable price. Booking and... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
