Carol Ship cruise, didn't do a lot of Caroling.

We booked this cruise on a groupon. The only good thing about this is that we did not pay through our noses for something so lacking for a festive and celebratory time of year. As previous poster said, the walk to the boat was dark and dangerous with no direction from staff. It was lightly decorated with Christmas decorations. It... More

As with previous post, the walk on the dock to the ship and back was dark, slippery and dangerous. There is no safety railings along the docks that you transverse around a number of moored boats to get to the Accent Cruise boat. The Boat we took the trip on was nicely decorated for Christmas. The trip through False Creek... More

We boarded the M.V. Eloquent for a 3 hour evening harbour cruise. The views of Vancouver were fantastic but the boat itself left a lot to be desired. I was quite surprised at how unsafe it was to maneuver around the boat and use the stairs in the dark. Just a simple light or two placed near the stairs and... More

I've marked this as average, as I think the food was satisfactory and the staff a little inexperienced. The 'cafeteria' style of service was OK, but less than I expected. Perhaps it was early in the season, but the wait staff had a great deal of difficulty with drink orders. They were late or did not arrive at all. Our... More

Four of us took one of the evening dinner Christmas Carol cruise on the Queen Burrard. The decor left a lot to be desired. There was little room to move around and the boat looked as if it had seen better days. It looked anything but festive, but old and tired. The dinner was terrible. It was basically inedible. The... The boat we were on (Burrard) was the oldest of the fleet and showed its age onboard. This wasn't a problem, but the lack of space on board was ridiculous as we had to ask the next table to kindly move their tables back so that we could pull out our chairs from under the table far enough to sit... We wanted to treat our elderly parents to a Christmas Carol cruise, which they have enjoyed in the past. This time it was a frightening experience. The docks are slippery, wobbly, VERY dark, and have no handrails. Once we were on the ship, the heat was completely inadequate, the bathrooms were filthy and only the men's had a working toilet.... Guess the state of the booking office was our first thought things might not be so great..but let's be optimistic and have the Christmas spirt:) The state of the dock getting to the boat is treacherous !!! ... And it is quite a walk in the dark...poorly lite...cords running everywhere..many turns..go at your own risk...ladies do not wear heels and... More

We booked a cruise for a company function and were very impressed. Everyone on board wants to make it an annual event.

What a great way to end the day at Granville Island. A friendly welcome while boarding and seating at your table. The staff were very accommodating and pleasant. One could sit under cover or on the upper deck. The upper deck provides a more spectacular view of the city. The bar was readily available and the buffet very well organized.... More

Staying in Granville Island & Fairview

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
