Buy a boat ticket that allows on/off stops. Views of city are beautiful, and you see the luxury condos and luxury yachts and facilities built for the former world Expo. Great choice for a sunny afternoon or morning. Love it!

It is one of the greatest places to be in Vancouver and one of the reasons why Vancouver is special. There are not many large cities in the world which you can explore from the water side, Vancouver downtown is situated on an island, so YES, here you can do it. The views of Bainbridge Island and Yaletown are just... More

We were there to see the sights....while on multiple rides on the False Creek Ferry we were able to see incredible Vancouver from the inner waters.....wow what a beautiful place.

False Creek has both the old and the new. Yaletown with all the new skyscrapers is where the 1986 Expo was located and so is all new. Granville Island on the other side is the old established market and the ferries help you to get around.

It is a nice area to walk around. We decided to rent kayaks and a SUP board from Granville and do it that way this time. Nice but of course not as scenic as taking the waterboards out and around Stanley Park......I guess it depends on how calm the waters are out near Stanley Park and since we had kids... More

It is a lovely area for walking along the shore, with all sorts of bird life to observe. Cyclists can be obnoxious and dangerous on pathways.

False Creek, while sounding small is a rather large inlet of water that is full of life. Granville Island sits in False Creek as does yaletown and Vanier Park. Both the Burrard and Granville Bridges cross False Creek. You can cycle, walk, stop at cafe's, and take a water Taxi anywhere along False Creek. You will find Stanley park at... More

This is a great way to see Downtown Vancouver and the seascape. Plenty of walkways along the water with nice views and parks surrounding. Walk by the beautiful BC Center or towards the Science World. Watch kayakers, boats, water taxis, etc. It was easy to just walk around and enjoy the beautiful day with my wife. Recommended for a casual... More

Maybe it's not so secret but I like this part of False Creek that is under the Burrard bridge. You can park there in the huge parking lot, walk the seawall, walk to Granville Island, see the rowers rowing by, and see Bard on the Beach all on the same day!!

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
