Fun spot for some cowboy music and beer. Food is not the best but the service is good and people always seem to be having a good time.

We went here for a bite and some music. It used to be a jazz/blues club but the management realized they'd go under if they didn't do something drastic: everybody in cowboy hats, bronco bull machine in the saloon, line dancing in the restaurant. I...More

Blues night on May 16 was awesome. Brandon, the regular host is a very competent blues guitarist and singer. Chip is a very competent and minimalist (small kit) drummer. Invited guest pianist was Willie McCalder, a long time personal favourite of mine. And bassist/ vocalist...More

Not sure what to really say about this place. When we first walked in it wasn't very welcoming. Not a single guest in the restaurant. Our server was the highlight of the evening. Super nice and friendly. I ordered a glass of wine and my...More

The mechanical bull riding and line dancing make this an energetic establishment for a night out, and I will return for the pure entertainment value. Participating is always the better option, but people watching at this saloon is just as fun. The decor in the...More

This was close to our hotel so we wandered over Saturday night for supper. We learned from the super friendly staff that The Yale is now The Yale Saloon and has re-vamped themselves. They are now a Country Blues venue offering a smoked BBQ menu....More

It was a riot, and a great place for live Blues, but, it is now gone with no replacement. We have been trying to follow the characters involved, but, nothing, so far.

Okay, okay, along with BB King's in Memphis, Arthur's Tavern in New York and Sammy Dow's in Glasgow, Scotland - this is the best - and I mean, quite simply, the best - blues joint in the world. Just get there. Huge, long bar, spacious...More

West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines
verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with
Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a
paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and
perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most
languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset
Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to
take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along
