Great theatre to see a concert. Saw the Kansas 50th anniversary concert here. Great acoustics, comfortable seats, great view of the stage and great light show. Theatre is easy to enter and easy to find your seats. This is an intimate setting where you can watch a great show and not feel like you are miles away from the action.

We went to see Shen Yun. It looks small. The seats remind me of an airplane. We are not very tall people but someone taller wouldhave a hard time sitting a couple of hours in the theatre. It is OK, but it doesn't give me a sense of being in a great theatre.

The facility is very nice and the acoustics can be very good depending on the sound engineer. I'm a big rock fan and have seen a number of shows there. Slash and Myles Kennedy put on a fantastic show, one of the best I've seen in many years. The sound was loud, but very clear and professionally mixed. In contrast, Soundgarden (which is one of my favourite bands) sounded absolutely horrible. The volume was off the chart and was so distorted it was sometimes difficult to discern what song they were performing (and I know their entire catalogue). Not sure what the problem was, but I'm guessing whoever their sound engineer was they were either in a drunken stupor or just couldn't care less what the band sounded like.

This beautiful classic venue hosts the Vancouver Opera, BC Ballet as well as a number of touring rock and Broadway shows. This is a smaller venue with roughly 3000 seats, so it has a more intimate feel than an arena or amphitheater.

Why only three stars? The venue suffers from poor sound. Years ago, we saw a Hall and Oates concert at which the performers quit after roughly 75 minutes; I believe they were frustrated with the sound. Most recently, we saw the Broadway Across Canada production of “Come From Away” - great show, but the sound lacked depth and impact. It could be poor acoustic design, or untrained house engineers, but i’m Betting on a house PA that’s seen little update since the theatre’s construction in 1959.

When we arrived early (Due to COVID Measures checking) there was a long line up. The staff were pleasant and professional and processed the line up of people quickly and efficiently.

The seats were comfortable (row 12 Center section) it looks like they tried to stager the seating to offset the person in front of you but some were square on. even though seating is stadium raised the person in front of me was taller and I was still able to see 98% of the performance

Intermission was 15 minutes... if you need the washroom go quick as the line forms fast

The facility is an older building but seems to be kept well and is nice and clean.

This venue is a nice clean place to see a concert at. Good seats and site lines all around from your seats to the stage. I saw my first concert at this venue in November 2019 of King Diamond. A very theatrical concert inside a theatre! I do recommend wearing ear plugs when seeing a loud heavy metal concert inside this place as the acoustics can be a bit loud. There is also a nearby parking garage to park your car if you drive at for a decent price.

The crush of people to get into the theatre was terrible. It took ten minutes to get through the door. Every woman was having their bag looked at by security. By the time we got up to our seats we were told we had 2 minutes before they shut the door by a very unfriendly usher.I was there last night and after lining up to use the washroom before the show I could not stand to do it during the intermission. I was on the mezzanine and so went into the men's. I walked in and went straight to a stall. The men were fine with it. This is why I pay more than $100 a ticket for the show!?. This discriminates against all the women in the audience. The washrooms should be all stalls for any sex. They need a serious renovation.I was then free to buy a treat during intermission, only to find another line and no choice of food at all. Merely some cheap and nasty candy. The staff do nothing but mix drinks that people have to gulp down and hand you a machine to pay by card only. In a theatre I went to in London, England last year they had staff come into the theatre with frozen treats and allow people to bring their drinks in with them after intermission. They obviously want the public to enjoy their evening out. Not so at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

We had excellent seats in row thirteen on a January Saturday night. I doubt there is a bad seat in the entire Theatre? Crowd entrance and exit seems relatively quick and efficient. I would be happy to return for another performance.
