The most popular beach

There is a very good restaurant, a outdoor pool by the beach and tennis courts. It is located in an area where you can walk to shops, restaurants and groceries.

Great to have a beach close by to wade by the waters edge and sink your feet into sand on a hot summer day.

This beach is ok but it is not very well tended. Kinda gross at times. There is a side that is pet friendly and you can take your dog off the leash.

Loved this beach for people watching, walking, and napping under a tree. It gets crowded in summer but love it most in spring and fall.

Kitsilano Beach is another local favourite for sunbathing and jogging. Beautiful views of the city and moutains, although the ocean water is too cold for swimming for most people. Lots of trendy restaurants nearby.

This is a wonderful place most of the year. Lots of grassy lawns and park space for picnics. A great beach with lots of room. You are not crowded even on sunny, hot days. Great swimming from May to September. They even have organized ocean swims on summer evenings that you can drop in to! Restaurants and concessions nearby where you... More

Kits Beach is fun for people watching; it has good restaurants close by, is connected to the seawall for a great walk, and has easy parking and amenities. Also close to Kits pool, has beach volleyball, etc.... As a BEACH, however, it is not that exciting. If you've been to Australia or Hawaii, you will yawn at this beach... However,... More

Definitely should be on your list to visit when in Vancouver! Paid parking is easy off Cornwall + Arbutus, you can park as far west as you can to be closer to Kits Pool (awesome, 132m length pool with some jump around space, note it is a bit chilly/windy for little ones that don't swim), great walking along beach and... The main beach and the other little ones, the view from there and the park around, all is really nice and friendly! From the zone of Kitsilano Pool you can get a nice view of the whole beach.

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
