Actually attended a service in this beautiful church. Not only is the interior eclectic in design but so is the liturgy and heavenly music by the choir and organ. The new spire at the back of the cathedral is modern in design with beautiful stained glass and when the bells toll they are wonderful.

Just a few more weeks of scaffolding and you'll be able to see a very impressive cathedral with nice outside grounds and a great stained-glass interior. Had a friendly volunteer to give us as much info as we needed (we're not big church tourists). Worth a wuick stop in!

I visited on a Saturday and was told it was closed. Only open Mon-Fri. They boast on their website of their Open House policy and inclusivity. I didn't see any sign of it. Not very Christian.

Whilst on a coach traveling to Capilano Suspension Bridge the informative driver, as part of her narrative, recommended a visit to the Cathedral in part to see the beautiful interior. The building is undergoing a major renovation and we had walked by already on numerous occasions without stopping to look inside. Big mistake - the inside is spectacular, particularly the... More

Currently undergoing renovation to put in a bell tower consisting of 4 bells - the smallest can be seen inside. This once was the tallest building in Vancouver - a long time ago and it has been preserved well, some photos of what it used to look like can be found inside. There are tours if you like, but I... Not religious, just like churches as a type of architecture. It was partially under renovation during my visit. The part you could see was very nice.

Lovely inside, pity the outside was under renovation. It's not overly big but the roof is old cedar and just beautiful!

We noticed that the doors were opened and wanted to see the church interior. A congregation member came over to us and offered to give us a short history of the church and an explanation of the "Raise the Roof" campaign for a belfry and bells. A local also explained how she had made a "square" for a textile installation... More

I live in Vancouver and have done since 1986. This church recently went through a multi million dollar roof renovation. Over the past thirty years this Georgia and Burrard right in the center of Downtown Vancouver church has slowly but surely been all but swallowed up by the corporate office towers. Located across from the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver until New... More

Architecturally, Vancouver has a lot to offer the visitor, including this cathedral, though a cathedral back in the old days was the first thing people would see in the distance as they approached a city, they would see the spire and say 'We're nearly there' Nowadays, whilst approaching Vancouver from the outside, you would be hard pressed to spot it,... Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
