We walked down to the end of Hornby Street at False Creek and caught the Aquabus over to Granville Island. The ferry is a fairly small catamaran type vessel with basic bench style seating. Very friendly staff. You pay on board with cash, or they have credit card facilities at the Granville Island dock. Ferry departs about every 5 minutes.

I was picked up at the Edgewater casino, it cost me $10 per person round-trip, you just stand at the edge of the pier and when the Aquabus goes by, they see you and stop to pick you up. You pay the driver when you get in, they only accept cash unless you are going to Granville Island where they... More

Fascinating to watch or ride. Makes numerous trips from Downtown Vancouver to the Island and it is well worth the trip.

Whether you're a tourist or a local, it's the best way to get around the inner harbour. Fun little trips to all the hot spots!

Price was right. We were tired of walking to Granville market and then around the market so we needed a good rest. The captain was not too friendly but got us to our destination without issues.

Staying in Granville Island & Fairview

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
