I had such a wonderful experience whale watching with this company. Our guide was super friendly, very knowledgeable and you could see how much she cared about the wildlife which really added to the experience. The staff in the office were also super helpful and even let me and my friends leave our large rucksacks behind their desk whilst we... More

We were able to spend several hours following a pod of orcas. We were able to get close up, however the driver turned off the engine near the whales. The staff were friendly and very informative. We then went to see the seals on the way back. There are also lovely views to Vancouver and Washington. Definitely something to do... More

Booked the day before knowing it was the end of the season and going to be average weather. Just rang up to book, the process was straight forward and they didn't charge before you show up. Show up an pay, you get given a boarding pass and given the opportunity to walk around the market, where you need to grab... More

I think this was one of those experiences that we will always treasure. What a magical day out on the water. We saw sea lions, a bald eagle feasting on it's prey, porpoise that were so fast that if you blinked you would miss them and then there were the whales. What can I say? We were 'mugged' by a... The team at Wild Whales Vancouver are fantastic! They take conservation very seriously and will take as long as it needs to find the whales. The trips are very informative, but we were on the open boat that lacked proper facilities - a problem if you are out there for may hours.

Want to see whales? Then go Wild Whales Vancouver. Simples!! Well organized, and delivered what we all wanted. Got to see both Orcas and Humpbacks in the same day. The crew are both informative and very enthusiastic! 10/10. Take something to eat though it is a very long day they do offer water and a granola bar on board but... More

These people clearly know what they are doing. Saw more than a few humpback whales and some Dall's porpoises - aside from seals and sea lions, which are also exciting but to me, not as much. Ashley, our guide, had such an enthusiastic manner in the way she talked about whales, and all the animals in general, that just added... More

Had an amazing day, we saw 6 humpback whales! We were 'mugged' by two of them (they came right up to the boat) which was amazing and our guide Ashley said she had never seen anything like it in 5 years :) would 100% recommend

Was hoping to see some orkas but didn't have any joy. We saw four active humpbacks instead which was great and we saw sealions. Was very cold I would recommend hat, scarf, gloves thick socks and lots of layers.

Staying in Granville Island & Fairview

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
