Downtown Vancouver's public gallery named after acclaimed Haida artist Bill Reid. The Gallery is home to the Simon Fraser University Bill Reid Collection and special exhibitions of contemporary Aboriginal Art of the Northwest Coast. Highlights include Bill Reid's stunning gold and silver jewelry, monumental sculptures and a towering totem pole by James Hart of Haida Gwaii. Visit the Gallery Shop, a source for Northwest Coast gifts, including carefully selected works of original art, finely crafted jewelry, and uniquely designed accessories and giftware. Inspired by the Gallery's exhibitions, featured pieces are authentic and indigenous. All purchases in the Gallery Shop support contemporary Northwest Coast artists. This small gallery was recommended to us by a docent at the Museum of Anthropology. It is a good place to find out more about the incredible influence of Bill Reid and the scope/range of his art. The staff is well-informed and helpful, and the small gift shop is a treasure in itself, and worth a visit to the gallery... More

My wife and adult son were slightly hesitant to join me on this visit but subsequently pronounced themselves hugely impressed by the modestly sized but well-curated and sensitively designed gallery. This isn't the place to tell the story of the late Bill Reid and his central role in returning First Nations art to a place of pride and respect in... More

Truly downtown Vancouver, this is a unique exhibit/gallery of one of Canada's great First-Nations artist. If you arrive or leave from YVR Airport you a bound to see some of his magnificent huge-scale art. Now you can see some of his finest more modest artwork, both sculpture and print. If you have interest in Canadian Nations art, this is a... More

A small, but beautiful First Nations art gallery in the middle of the city. Well worth a visit to see some of Bill Reids work as well as other First Nations artists.

I really enjoyed the Gallery and the Bill Reid artwork. Amazing jewellery, sculptures and prints. This is a small museum/gallery over two floors. However, I spent 2 hours enjoying the art and explanatory videos as well as an exhibition of another Canadian artist. Well worth a visit in the heart of downtown Vancouver. My favourite piece was the huge bronze... More

Small but incredible collection of art by the trailblazer Bill Reid. He worked in a multitude of mediums and was clearly a genius. Examples of carvings, jewelry, wire doodles, drawings... it will leave you amazed at his creative spirit.

We loved this gallery. We sought it out after seeing a magnificent Bill Reid sculpture (Raven and The First Men) at the Museum of Anthropology. This gallery is a really incredible and a must see.

The Gallery is located behind the office building at the northwest corner of Hornby St and West Georgia Street. Best way to access it is through the ground floor lobby of the office building...walk towards the back entrance of the building and you will find a lovely court yard with the Gallery on the other side. A visit to Vancouver... More

Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries.
