Great workout!

I walked this trail on Monday with friends and for two hours I received a great workout and enjoyed great association with dear friends as we walked.

This is a very scenic walk/hike, and I'd highly recommend it. One very interesting aspect is the reversing falls - we watched kayakers trying to go up the falls, with some success. Enjoy!

The trail was busy, a lot of people and dogs frequent this trail. It was very scenic and interesting. I enjoyed spending time with my husband just walking, talking and exploring. This is definitely a must see if in Prince Rupert but make sure you bring some water and use the restroom at the beginning of the trail if you... More

Old growth forest and fast moving water, It was sunny when we started out hike and by the time we got to the rapids viewing area it was raining really well. The rain seemed to start and stop and start again but we were prepared. When we got to the Rapids viewing area there was a rainbow over the rapids,... More

Butze Rapids is one of the more popular trails and natural scenic sites in Prince Rupert for locals and tourists alike. As you walk or hike the nearly 5km loop, you get the opportunity to experience a number of British Columbia's unique ecosystems -- lush forests, swamps, the ocean -- and their accompanying flora and fauna. Seeing the moss covered... More

Lots of well kept trails through differing ecosystems (e.g., old growth forest, swamps with skunk cabbage, bogs, ocean). The reversing rapids were of great interest as well. There were a few kayakers checking out the waters.

This is a moderate trail with some ups and downs, a few boardwalks. Locals run and walk the dog. My hubby with a recent hip replacement found it a bit of a challenge but a good workout.

the trail is a good hike through the rain forest and takes you down to the water for a good walk, there is wolfs there sometimes so not a good idea to take dogs at times. If you want to see the rapids at there best go when the tides is going to be the lowest of the day.

The Butz Rapids trail is an easy excursion. The trail is well maintained. Loop trail. I believe accessible to those confined to wheel chair. Scenic views. Timing needed to witness effect of rapids, so hikers need to know tides tables.

Even though I do not find this an easy walk, I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to going again.
