Wonderful experience walking and hiking the trails at Cottonwood Island Nature Park. The views were breath taking, had lots of fun maintaining our balance on portions of the trails that were still snow covered. Lots of laughing and chatter as we all enjoyed watching each other out in the fresh air and surrounded by such beautiful view and nature at... More

Travel through all the different trails. A great place to jog with a friend. Boat launch, paddle your kayak or canoe down this historical river. So many things to do here. I love the atmosphere, listening to the birds, having a picnic with a friend. Dog lovers paradise. I enjoy going there with my dog and walk along the beach.... More

A great natural park. Winding trails through the woods and along the river, bridges and creeks, beavers, and if you look carefully...carvings in some of the trees ("forest faces").

Cottonwood Island is a nature oasis at the confluence of the Nechako and Fraser Rivers. It's a great place to walk or run the trails meandering through the park. We've spotted bears, deer, moose, foxes, rabbits, beavers, otters, eagles and ospreys on our walks. In May when the Cottonwood leaves are opening, the smell is wonderful. If you come with... More

Visited last in August 2016. Access by walking through ft. George park and walk down along under the bridge. You will come upon a gravel parking lot. Different paths all lead towards the river. Bridge you can walk over near end of the lot. See people walking, cycling, and some taking their dogs out for a walk. Sign warning about... More
