Launched in 1914, the ship provided a vital means of transport to remote communities on the shores of Okanagan Lake. The SS Sicamous is operated by the SS Sicamous Society: a non-profit organization that works to protect the marine heritage of the Okanagan.Funds from your admission go directly to the restoration of the SS Sicamous, and the other heritage ships in our care.

Would have loved to tour the boat, but the lake flooding lifted the boat off its mooring, making it unsafe to visit. Next time

Although a great attraction in and of itself, the Sicamous is surrounded by interesting places to visit. I especially enjoyed the Rose Garden as well as Loco landing. Due to all the rain during the winter months, the Sicamous is now afloat and it is great to see it in all its glory. It is easy to imagine this stately ship steaming up the lake in its hay day to various ports of call.

This is truly a great heritage site for the Okanagan Valley. The restoration of the vessel has been well done. The collection of photographs and memorabilia on board is remarkable. The ability to explore the various areas of the ship adds to the enjoyment of the visit. The bonus of the HO guage model railway of the Kettle Valley line was much appreciated.

They have done a really great restoration job of the ship and I really enjoyed the replica KVR model railway. It was a great place to hold a meeting.

Although this Museum was not open to the public until a later date, we did have a look inside the door and it was very interesting. We walked around and looked at the other antique boats and read all the information about each one.where they traveled and what they transported. They also hold weddings and receptions on the S.S. Sicamous.

I enjoyed a half day visit to the SS Sicamous, the only remaining sternwheeler from the 1900's. Nicely maintained machine room and decks and salons. Can be booked for events. A historic icon of Penticton and the Okanagan.

When in Penticton this is a great stop. Full of history and a wonderful walk through you will definitely see an older side to this community.

Has private beach beside boat for the wedding and will seat 75 or100 guest inside boat. Lots for your guess to look at while photos are being taking and has a kitchen on board as well. The stair cases are great for photo ops. Not wheel chair assessable, but other wise wonderful . Boat lights up at night very little to decorate, because the boat is the decoration

Beautiful ship on the shore of Okanagan Lake at the north end of Penticton being restored by volunteers is open to the general public most weekends during the winter and offers ambience for special functions. Full of history and admission is very reasonable

Hi J! Thanks for asking, visitor times change a little, so the best option is to check the opening times on the Sicamous website (go to the main ss Sicamous site and click the "visit us" tab at the top). Hope this helps! :)
