We had a very pleasant time visiting the Kelowna Art Gallery. The gallery isn't huge but it has a few cool exhibits going on, especially now (Warhol and Banksy). Very fun way to spend an hour or two, definitely recommend checking out!

I visited the gallery on a Thursday which happens to be a free admission day. There were minimal crowd, which meant I was able to enjoy the experience. I also enjoyed the fact that the gallery was a walking distance from where I resided.

Been here a few times. Keep waiting to see more from this place. If you have kids its a great place because you can bring them here on the weekend to do some painting but exhibit wise they are lacking. If you are visiting Kelowna and you live in a big city you may be disappointed.

The gallery was changing exhibits the day we visited. This was unfortunate as the main gallery was closed. We did enjoy the children's art section and the one display that was open.

It's nice to have it right in town and it's free on Thursdays. They always have something interesting to look at!

This is a nice new building, and filled with studios (work spaces) and art. We saw a lot of good work and had a brief conversation with a fiber artist - all good. I would not want to miss this if I were a visitor to Kelowna.

This art gallery is very small but the Canada 150 exhibition was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is no cafe but several good restaurants are close by and the receptionist will let you back in if you leave for lunch and will not charge you again.

This is a relatively large building but with only a few exhibits. It is only $5 entrance fee but I visited on Thursday which was free. I spent most of my time at the "Grapes and Tortillas" by Deborah Koenker. This exhibit will be in this gallery until October 30th. There was several parts to the Exhibit but the majority of the exhibit contained photos of 160 temporary agricultural workers from Mexico. There was a picture of each Mexican holding a tortilla with a personal handwritten message on the tortilla. The front desk provided a 11-page translation of the individual messages. The messages were enlightening and stirring. The other photos on the "Tortilla Wall" were interesting as well including photos from "walls" in the Tijuana area.

To be fair, this is the first time visiting the KAG. While regular admission is only $5 for an adult, I am glad that I arrived on a Thursday, when the admission fee is waived. There were a couple of exhibits that were a tad odd- Wally Dugs and For All is for Yourself. However, Grapes and Tortillas was an interesting exhibit detailing the impressions of many Mexican temporary workers. There was a picture of each holding a tortilla with a message. Fortunately there was a translation available at the front desk as it made for some interesting insights.
As I said, there is great value if you go on a Thursday, and I am sure that other exhibits may be more appealing. Of course, with art, beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder!!
