Its a very pretty resort in the mountains and looks very alpine /tyrolean. It was really quiet when we were there, very little open but it's off season. Nice drive there from Kamloops.

Love Sun Peaks. There is something for everyone here, and it's just perfect for families, and then of course perfect for the young partiers during the music festivals and such. It's beautiful groomed regularly and the Nordic skiing is amazing. The village is very quiet...More

Attended in January 2016. Went with group of seven of us including two teenagers. Very nicely groomed trails. And what's not to like about BC in the winter?Weather was perfect -5c. Only problem was it was like an anthill in the resort. There is also...More

Along with excellent winter activities, I have been a regular at the awesome concert series that go on all summer. The hikes are amazing and there is a fantastic farmers market every Sunday ...excellent accommodations and food choices as well. Very Family friendly!

Wandered the shops and chatted with the shopkeepers. Weather was rainy so being inside was the day's choice. Very friendly and helpful people who like their work and location. Will return again.

Decided to visit, wasn't disappointed Great village, some terrific eating and fresh pastries. Seemed crowded but didn't see the crowds. Great drive up and was very scenic.

We spent a week at Sun Peaks, skiing and snowboarding. It's an awesome mountain with great runs for all levels. The snow was fantastic, very well groomed runs. The town is small but lots of accommodation, places to eat and small stores - rather pricey...More

A lot of positives, like terrain, grooming, and weather (no rain in Village), not overcrowded, but it not quite ready for the big time. Al and Nancy know a lot more about ski resort development and operation than I, but as a consumer I know...More

I love going here as it is so easy to get around. The crowds are pretty non existent and if you are lucky enough to get a snow day.... it does not get much better than skiing on dry powder. Enough lifts and lots of...More

Just a add on to the one review stating only ski clouds got to ski top of mountain before it opened, ski clubs and Olympic training are allowed up early because they have the skills to ski the mountain in not so great conditions, therefore it is not safe to the rest of the public and would cost a fortune to rescue tourists from risky situations

The unsafe areas are out of bounds for a reason. It is very unsafe and dangerous. Some skiers do go to these areas but if they need help or get lost it costs a lot for search and rescue to find them and bring them down the... More

My son is driving around US in a camper van and keen to visit Sun Peaks for a weeks skiiing. How challenging is the drive from Kamloops to Sun Peaks? Does the vehicle need to have 4 wheel drive? Any other tips? Thanks in advance for any feedback from others who may have done this. Cheers. Louise

The road is paved and well-maintained through the winter. Four wheel drive is not necessary for the drive, but snow tires are a requirement on BC Highways. There aren't any RV hook ups at the resort.
