Great history lesson and family experience

This is a great place to take the kids for a family outing or to take any history enthusiast! I went with my husband and we had a great time, and I learned a lot too!

Rising from the mist of the Fraser River, the palisades of Fort Langley stand tall. Inside the walls, rough-hewn timber buildings recreate the rugged 1800s. See where Hudson’s Bay Company fur traders mingled with California gold prospectors and hear First Nations interpreters tell century-old tales. Feel the blast of the musket fire, pan for gold dust dreams and dress up... More

2017 is the year to visit National Parks in Canada as they are free in honour of our 150 years as a country. The buildings are interesting to visit and to learn the history of the fur trade and the role Queen Victoria played in establishing British Columbia. We were here with 2 seven year olds who really enjoyed the... More

Good time to go...its free for 2017! It has been awhile since I have been and I have to say the new little restaurant area is a welcome addition inside the Fort. While the day I went was quiet..it was a very pleasant interlude visit. If you have not been in awhile...go again. The fellow in the main hall was... More

I brought a group of international students to Fort Langley National Historic Site. For a small fee, we were given a tour of the entire site, with visits to most of the buildings. Our guide Netty, was very personable and quite knowledgeable on the history of the old trading post. It was an educational experience, with a chance to learn... More

It's currently free for 2017, so well worth a visit. The attraction is interesting, do make sure you watch the demonstrations that the staff perform. For those interested in TV filming locations, this is a must!

Enjoyed all of the hands on activities. Great for kids of all ages! Historical and fun! Really enjoyed the scavenger hunt, black smith, and cooper! Cafe is expensive so try any of the eating options along the main strip or side streets in town!

I have been there several times and always enjoyed it. There is a active blacksmith building, the original home of the leader of the Fort. areas outside where they often have native activity displays such as smoking salmon where you get to taste it right off the fire, an indoor "café" where it's done up like the old times but... We wanted to see a little more of Canada other than Vancouver and the ski resorts, so we took a trip out to Fort Langley National Historic Site, which is a representation of the Hudson Bay Company's trading post, I wont go into detail as their website is far more informative, just to say we had an extremely informative visit,... I had the privilege of visiting the national historic site in Fort Langley. It is a full and comprehensive accumulation of history detailing the narration of the invasion of the British; the preservation of past culture, trade, and custom. The staff are great, very peaceful, eager to explain every detail and show people around. We also went to the movie... More
