We've been to Barkerville Historic Town twice now in the last 3 years! Both times were just so enjoyable and entertaining. On each visit, we spent two whole days to fully enjoy the varied activities, shows and just enjoying the meals especially the ones offered by the Chinese Restaurant! There are several shops housed in old buildings that sell a... More

We picked a colder day to visit, and it was still so much fun! We took the horse carriage ride to the court house ($15 each round trip per adult) and sat on the jury of a murder trial, watched a Royal Theatre musical (I think about $13 per adult), hiked to the Barkerville Cemetery, took a free town tour,... Such a unique experience ,well worth the drive to get there. it is a preserved frontier working town, feels and I s very real . the people working there and in period costume are lots of fun and entertaining. We went for chinese food In the old restaurant and honestly was exceptional food. We also learned to pan for gold... More

I made myself stop here on the way to Prince George from Quesnel (it's about a 45 minute detour off the highway). I got there early on a Monday morning this past August and was very happy I made the effort. Lots to do, with something for everyone. One of the houses is the old "sporting house" used by the... We enjoyed a great day in Barkerville on Saturday. Our family of 4 (teen, pre-teen, and 2 adults) learned a load about the BC Gold Rush. Loved the shows, the actors on the streets, the displays! We also paid extra to see the musical and that was thoroughly enjoyable!

Family of 6 including kids 3,4,10 and 12 - we all had a blast! Our unanimous favourite was our Theatre Royale experience. The gold panning was great. Staff are all friendly and helpful. There's so much to see in one day. Splurge on the heritage package to enjoy all the extras.

This is a historic recreation of Barkerville that first started in the 1860s during the BC gold rush. At one time it was one of the largest cities in western North America. The staff dress in period costume and portray what life was like over 125 years in the past. There are good places to eat there and even a... More

Or family (kids aged 6, 8, & 10) visited Barkerville and had an amazing time. The actors really brought the town to life. All the kids loved the Williams Creek School House & Chinese School. Some of the other skits/tours were a little long for the younger two but my 10 year old loved all of them. The Town Tour... More
